Meditation Questions and the Group

Hi Chrism, my Shaktipat is going well. I have 4 quick questions

regarding meditation:

When meditating, I sometimes lie down on my bed or on grass outside.

This allows for the hands in locked finger-thumb position to have a

choice between lying loosely at the sides, or resting on the chest. I

found resting them on the heart chakra seems to keep complete the circle

of energy for me - is this OK?

I find that the Goddess/God prayer builds energy better in continuing

repetition throughout meditation - used like a mantra - rather than as a

lead-in.  Again, is that OK?

I recall from my days of TM and Yoga Nidra (I think) , that there was

step leading out of meditation where you pause and try and lock into

bodily feelings and the five senses in a very passive way before coming

out completely - a bit like consciously entering the hypnagogic phase

before waking from sleep. It seems to make for a smoother landing -

what are your ideas on this?

Finally, aside from cutting out house and traffic noise, I've found the

occasional use of foam earplugs does allow for the amplification, and

better listening to, of the sounds of the incoming and outgoing breath

which is helpful for focus - is this OK or should we be completely open

(albeit with part-closed eyes! ) to all distractions and simply learn to

strip them of meaning?   Many thanks - John.

P.S.  Dhyana, thanks for your commentary throughout this

Shaktipat
