My ego would rather not be involved and walk away leaving them in their soup but *something* in me causes this great *aching* to help I can't ignore if my head were on fire..even if it causes me personal conflict.. I can identify with the ache to serve, but this works the other way around for me. For me, it's my ego driving me at times to want to get involved, and I've learned it is sometimes important to let people stew in their soup. It often backfires if I step in before I'm asked. It doesn't matter so much if I like the person or people involved, either. In fact, I am often drawn to the sort of person I dislike as a call to service. " Service " doesn't always entail " being involved with " , at least not for a long term. Brandi
