Guest guest
I have been reading the posts now for about 2 weeks and so finally I have decided to introduce myself. I think my k-experiences started when I was about 13 years old. I went to Bible camp and one night I was watching the camp fire, listening to singing, when I was filled with " love " . It was like the love of god that made the universe, was filling me and making me explode. I cried and cried all night long. In the morning someone old and mature told me that it was Jesus and the Holy Ghost. A month or so after that, I started having night terrors, which were excruciating to me and lasted in my life until my early 20s. A few years later, some one helped me to speak in tongues for the first time. Again I was filled with impossible energy while I spoke in words my mind did not give any meaning. I felt as hot as the sun while I burned away into nothing. There was only the tongues. After that I became a super bible fanatic and tortured my family for the next couple of years. Just after college I began meditating and practicing chakra exercises. I had on a few occasions experienced " high voltage " in my body and spine. During my 20s I dreamed all of the time, even while awake. I had some friends who practiced meditation, read a lot of theosophical books and frequented psychic fairs. During these years I was not effective in a work setting, consequently, I struggled financially. For the next 20 years I devoted myself to working. Finishing my education and being a good spouse. Recently, I have rediscovered yoga and meditation since it helps me greatly when I am teaching, which I have been doing for 5 years in special ed in public school. It keeps me calm and relaxed and yet energized. It allows my instinct and intuition to respond when I need it. Unlike in my 20s, the meditations and yoga are helpful to me. I think what I was missing was " grounding " for all of the energy I was raising. I practice sikh kundalini yoga and meditation. I also practice Iyengar style yoga, which I find to be gentle enough to do every day. I am interested in learning about chanting with yantras. I have read a couple of books about it and I want to try it. I will try anything at least once. I have been open to experimentation my whole life and I have been maintaining a daily practice for about 3 years. So far I enjoy the posts. I have been learning about various practices and techniques for raising energy, such as the exercises in the files. I am looking forward to participation with this group. love and blessings, slothmander
