Guest guest
Hello everyone, I'm not sure what to write or say about such an amazing place. Please go if you can. I will try to keep it short... Bathing in the Ganges was wonderful. I felt very blessed to be there in such a sacred place. Many yogis were there washing their clothes. Some children doing the same. Some kids just hanging out. Some were on a pilgrimage and were bathing like I was. In many places I was asked to take pictures for Indian Tourists, or they asked to take pictures of me. Often poorer people were curious about my camera and I often spent time taking pictures of everyone and showing them, sometimes one of them would take the pictures of me with them. The culture is very spiritual. I was amazed walking into small bookshops and seeing 60 to 70% of books being a wonderful mishmash of religious, spiritual and self help material. I don't think I've seen so many copies of " Men are From Mars, Women From Venus " in my life lol... Once a couple sitting beside me was reading it taking turns, on a train I was on. Shiva is in many places, Krishna, Ganesh, many... Even the Budha and Christ are to be seen. Sai Baba in many shops and places. Spiritual names are included in the business names. Holy Images in so many places. I arrived at the Ganges town of Haridwar at about 4 am and started to walk around. Many pilgrims or poor people will sleep along the river binding themselves up in blankets. Many parts of the river have cement steps alongside and concrete sidewalks up top, and there are many places where construction is occuring to make more banks along the river accessible like this. I stumbled upon a Hari Krishna all night prayer/singing vigil my first morning there. Very intersting, and I went back a few hours later to see a short song and dance presentation, a story about Krishna. A huge blue Shiva statue was at the back of the prayer tent, men and women were separate. They sang and prayed all night, fasting til morning too. Kids ran around and enjoyed the occasion. I met Prasad in Bangalore and he took me to a temple. Prasad is very spiritual, kind and very helpful. He even bought me breakfast! Blessings to Prasad! He gave me a cd of chants and mantras. I'll have to have a look at that as soon as I can. I returned to the temple Prasad showed me the next morning as well. Luckily I got to go to two more the last day too. One was a Shiva temple with a huge bull statue. It was a very strong representation of Shiva. The other was in a cave and is famous because light only shines on the main statue for 5 min a year. It's televised across the country when it happens. There is something very strong in India that constantly tests you. The contrasts there, the poverty, pollution, beauty, wealth, etc... They all intensify your experiences. I hope to return at some point, to travel more and study. There are many ashrams to study at. Some will let you stay for free or very little with some service required. I have a lead on one organic farming community I may be able to go live with. Many opportunities for service, loving learning and growth. So many thoughts to share, many thoughts and feelings... I hope you all can imagine. I will post some photos soon. Be well, be love bradly

I am looking forward to meeting other KAS Group members too... but that you met Prasad this week over there is far out! You are wrapped in Blessing. You live life beyond your PC. So now Windows goes beyond your PC. See how

Guest guest
Lol thank you Prasad. Miss you already... For those not in the know, " Ganga " is the Ganges... It is a beautiful place. Please everyone when you have a chance, visit the sacred places of beauty that are all around us. The Sacred Trees, the Grand Canyons, the mountains, Falls, temples, churches and rivers that have meant so much to us for so long. Go there and feel the sacredness and beauty that defies time. Just a suggestion! love bradly
