Guest guest
One to watch out for. I got involved in a reduced diet. Defined pretty much by fasting as much as possible. I'm one who never really got off on food to begin with so, it was easy. Eating is a drag. My whole body changes when I dump a bunch of food in it, and in ways I do not like. So I pretty much just stopped eating. Ended up at 96 pounds, and no energy to move on with my day, just wanted to sleep. This while maintaining my job etc..and my job is physical, I walk over 5 miles a night doing it. Bunch of changes happened, anxious, irritable, quick to jump on others. Emotions all over the spectrum. Not what I expected. But I should not have been surprised, much literature out there about people who have no food. I am also what Jean calls a fat bigot. I can't imagine how people get so huge. Physics says you can't create matter out of nothing, so these giant lumbering beasts I see have to be jamming food in their mouths almost all the time. I just sit in amazement at some of the seriously fat people I see. I just proved it, with no input, you end up like me. Wanting sleep, 96 pounds, and no energy for life. I did realize, that living in this body means I have to feed it. Not really thrilled with that , but death isn't real cool either. At least right now. So I'm doing ensure, and I'm up to 102 lbs. Feeling a little more stable every day. K has me testing my limits I think. All of my physical systems were thrown way out of wack with this. My own personal torment. Other stuff like hands are so hot. and I can shift now. not this place but another. I can pop in and out at will. Suspend time. .. Nice to be in this group, but we have to also look to our own lessons. Mine are wierding me out. Peace Don

Thyroid and adrenal problems are the main reason I'm large. Maybe most of the heavy people you see do overeat, but a large (pun intended) subgroup of us have medical problems and can gain weight on what for others would be less than a subsistence diet. I know people with high metabolisms who stuff their faces all day long and are underweight. Wanting sleep, 96 pounds, and no energy for life. I think you know that's not healthy either. What you are describing is an eating disorder, it's not a spiritual condition. While we're in the body we are supposed to eat. Talk to your doctor before you do irreparable damage to your body. On the spiritual side, cultivating some compassion for fat and skinny people might also help. Talk to people like me, who struggle with weight, who hate ourselves and our bodies, and discover that we're not pigs, we're people, and we feel a lot of pain too. Guest guest
Hi Don & Brandi, Don, you really must start eating properly. I'm glad I posted this, not for myself but for you. It was surprising to hear you talk this way about 'overweight' people. What would you think of me if we met? What Brandi says about issues you may have with weight is true. Have you ever looked into why you have these strong feelings? One of the reasons I like the Caribbean and Africa is that women of size are considered both beautiful and desirable. I am both and I am still able to do everything my thinner sisters do. I dont want to get bigger because it feels uncomfortable, not because it feels gross to look at myself in the mirror. Please dont starve yourself anymore Don. It is better to be heavier and alive, than thin and sick. Guest guest
For all those who want to reduce there weight, Practice "Vajrasana" for ten minutes twice a day. I assure you it will work. Added benefits are improved memory and concentration.Brief description, on a folded blanket on the floor, kneel down and then sit back, the buttocks touching the heels. Hands on knees, abdomen drawn in, chest up, back straight, shoulders squared, head erect. Breath slowly. Let all the happiness in your mind be reflected on your face. Be aware of your body and breathing. Don't day dream or fantasize. You can read more here : http://chrysalisyog.homestead.com/vajrasan.htmlThis is the only Yoga posture that can be done immeadiately after taking food. Also if one practices this just before going to bed at night, very deep and relaxing sleep is assured.http://ad-wise.blogspot.com/2007/05/v-j-r-s-n-only-yoga-posture-which-can-b.htmlRegardsVGPS. Guest guest
Not to worry, my body has been doing very odd things to me for most of the summer and now into fall. Certainly a process going on. I'm on it, hard to eat when you don't really feel like it but I am. A couple of ensures a day as well. Kind of like a purging or cleansing, had to get down to the essence. A little like shedding your skin, to be renewed. The body seems to hang in there, but the mental Kiryas are a bitch. Grin !! Guest guest
Lots of information is available on what I am writing here, on the internet.People who want to reduce their weight, miss their break fasts, thinking this will help in reducing weight. This is not correct. In fact, if you eat some thing, like two biscuits or a slice of bread, within one hour of getting up, this will help you in reducing weight. Not eating anything till noon will only add weight. Here is a simple formula, for weight reduction, on empty stomach take a glass of warm water with one tea spoon full of honey.RegardsVG--- On Tue, 4/11/08, Elektra Fire <elektra.fire wrote:Elektra Fire <elektra.fireRe: DietTo: Date: Tuesday, 4 November, 2008, 11:49 PM True Brandi, my Dad is very obese but really doesnt eat as much as some skinny chinese friends of mine, he is just sensitive to certain foods and has a very slow matabolism.love elektra x x x One person's experience is not universal. Guest guest
oh I forgot I bought this great ayurveda jam called dabur chyawanprash it has all of the flavours in and when you take a spoon of it in water, it rids you of any cravings and prevents colds too. I got mine in the asian store but I've seen it on e-bay too. paula , Venugopal AK <akvenugopal wrote: > > Lots of information is available on what I am writing here, on the internet. > People who want to reduce their weight, miss their break fasts, thinking this will help in reducing weight.
