I'm glad ... it keeps on giving, that gift. To this day if I am feeling disempowered, I just go back to that moment. Once the fear barrier drops it doesn't return. Sometimes it does. But each time it's shorter and shorter, it has less power over me. Do you ever find yourself wanting fear back? I have common sense to keep me from danger ... I don't need fear for that. And it's not that I am never afraid. It doesn't affect me as much as it used to. Fear isn't the problem and eliminating fear isn't the solution. The solution is to find ways to act effectively even when I feel fear. One of the classes I took with Ross Quinn focuses on the difference between real fears and perceived fears. For example, the reality is that thousands of people are killed every month on our highways. But which do we fear more, accidents or terrorism? And some of us say we fear public speaking more than death! (laugh) For example the stock market is nuts, the pound has started crashing, there's depleted uranium circling the Earth poisoning us all and I don't feel fear. I should feel fear, but It's gone... I thin the bigger question is what good would adding fear back to that mixture bring us? I think these things are important to be aware of, but fear doesn't enhance our ability to respond to our challenges, quite the opposite for the most part. Guest guest
brandi_ fear is the standing the black maji uses to hold sway over the evolution process. It is the illusion one is held under the juristiction of bullies and alike. being aware of ones own fear for thr purpose of being more powerful than them is admirable though actively paticipating them and subddueing the truth is not. we may think us to be of the human race and we might thing because of technology we have evolved somewhat. yes i recon we just might have as well. though it is not through technology that we have it is because we have surpassed fear to an extent. We may believe or accept to believe that fear is all about sustaining our present situations however this is not the case when we have a vision of what is to come. this is more liken to the relisation of an ideal you should see in chrism and others on this group that is there main objective although they may not tell you. in love John .M , Brandi Jasmine <jazztalk wrote: > > At 10:23 AM 6/25/2008, you wrote: > >I just HAVE to jump in here! I didn't see what he wrote as fearful, and I don't mind if has some fear and expresses that honestly. Fear isn't a problem in and of itself, any more than anger or resentment are. It's what we do with these emotions that counts.Even an enlightened being can feel fear. If we compound that with self-recrimination it only makes it worse. I know that wasn't your intention - but if that were aimed at me, I'd be tempted to beat on myself a bit (Not that will <g> but I think he's ahead of me there). We do all want to get past our fear, but we won't do that if the goal is to have no fear at all. Maybe that was realistic for Christ/Buddha ... but that's a pretty lofty goal for the rest of us. > > I don't want my leaders and teachers to deny their fears. When that happens we get a lot of macho strutting like we see too much of in politics. I am inspired by leaders who admit their fears and go forward anyway. My friend Ross often speaks in his classes about his own fears and reactions. We both share a reaction about rejection. I was so relieved to hear him talk about that because I admire him greatly, I know he admits to being human, and I didn't feel I had to be perfect around him after that. > > Brandi > >
