Guest guest
Let's widen the subject. The book " Biology of Kundalini " makes many suggestions about diet and nutrition, vitamins, herbs, antioxidants (She, Dana, is really big on antioxidants for K experiences,) etc. What have we found out in this group? Chrism usually answers all of these questions…which is really great… however I would also like to hear from everyone else. This should not exclude from answering of course. One interesting thing, Dana is very clear about avoiding almost all sweets, even fruit… watermelon. is big on eating watermelon. No judgment on my part….just an interesting contradiction. rich , " kundaflame " <kundaflame wrote: > > is this herbal product good to take with K? > Fot-Ti-Tieng > Namaste > Craig >
Guest guest
Yes the biology of Kundalini authors name is Jana Dixon and we agree on some points and we do not agree on others. What is given through me comes from the Kundalini in me and from the experiences I have had and continue to have with the Kundalini. It comes from this work with others that is done here and in other places. Watermelon is proven to work for people getting much Kundalini heat and kidney expansion and adrenal hyper expression. It calms the body without blocking the flow and is good for a person in many ways. With respect I will only outline what I have outlined many times on this group regarding vitamin suggestions these can vary from individual to individual as we are different in our requirements but here are some standards. Men and women will differ in some of the specific requirements.: 1000 mgs vit C complex with 100 mgs rutin 100 mgs hesperiden 100 mgs citrus bioflavinols 100 or 60 mgs grape seed extract 50 to 100 mgs zinc 100 to 200 mcgs selenium - (women can have 50 mcg) 500 mgs magnisium 100 mgs calcium Iron supplements for women 400 to 1000 i.u. natural tocepherol vit. E taken with food every three days. , " Richard Eisenberg " <Pyaar333 wrote: usually answers all of these questions…which is really great…however I would also like to hear from everyone else. Guest guest
I beleve it depends on what sadhana one is doing to tame the kundalini abakti can eat anything after offering her/is food to the diety. This helps the sadhaka to digest all types of food after all the food is perculiar in that it has to be good enough to offer it god, A raja yogi will eat light simple meals satwick in nature mostly plain yet well cooked so as not to disturb the mind and thought process. A karma yogi will eat high energy foods such as rice dhal (mung beans) so that they can trance along fullfilling there karma though work effics. In a closed ashram situation fruit is usually only kept for children howerver is given as a treat to the adults in order to break the monotany. I dont know about vitamin tablets that a given espressly to control awaken ar tame the kundalini. Water mellon is a slight sweet and is mostly water it probably has amounts of vitamins and minerals as most foods do. lets put it this way on an ashram or community of fellow students it is quite offten a controlled enviroment, You work eat sleep & hit pee by routine. this is not the same thing when you are out in the materialist comunity. quite offten than usual things become out of routine. living as a housholder in the western world we may find we need water melon. , " Richard Eisenberg " <Pyaar333 wrote: > > usually answers all of these questions…which is really great… > however I would also like to hear from everyone else. Guest guest
Hi Craig, After a post last week, I became interested in certain Chinese herbs for longevity and anti-aging. Upon investigation, I was told by a practitioner that Chinese herbs are typically only taken to remedy a condition, as they are a specific combination needed to regulate the effects of the individual herb. Taking them without the advice of an herbalist might cause side effects in the digestive area. This may or may not be the case, just what I was told in the White Crane in Austin, Texas. Guest guest
I have noticed that if I listen to my body, it will tell me what to eat. And trust me, it is NOT a typical "I am this, or I am that" situation. Some mornings I crave oatmeal, some mornings egss, some mornings bananas, some evening steak, some evening pasta, some evening cold cereal or a piece of fruit. If I will stop and feel what my body is craving, I do very well. If I just "eat" for the sake of eating, sometimes I am not so well. I remember once craving orange juice, must have been my body crying for vitamin "c". I had to have my thyroid removed at 19 due to a malignant tumor. I remember keeping rock salt in my desk at school to suck on all day. There was a definite correlation. So I don't do a specific diet, but do take a broad spectrum vitamin/mineral tablet. It is a horse pill; but I know I would never take 10 different pills a day. Water, yes. That is the most important, trying to stay hydrated. Sometimes I am not really hungry, just thirsty. Need to cut down on the coffee. Everyday make the commitment, but haven't had the willpower yet. My parents put it in my baby bottle for some reason. Imagine that!!! Talk about addiction. Always good to have a "mono" day, just rice, or just fruit for one day. Not so good with fasting, but can do the "mono" day well. Easier on the digestion Funny as I write this, my stomach is making all kinds of gurgling noises trying to neutrlize the acid from my 4 cups of java. Oh well. I do it mindfully. Grind the beans, take in the aroma, and SAVOR each sip. I didn't realize it until JohnDPlumber talked about the ill effects of cooked cheese that I no longer craved it as much. Seems like that happened about the time of my kawakening. Imagine that. Happy eating............. Guest guest
Great answers everyone! I was not only referring to vitamins. I meant everything. I am vegetarian, mostly vegan, I eat organic yogurt and eggs once in a while. I take a lot of supplements. I use a high quality multivit/mineral, that has lots of other really good stuff in it like Green tea, NAC, blueberry extract etc. I like to try to stay closer to whole foods, as supplements, when possible, so, I also take a scoop of organic coco powder (great antioxidant and good for the heart and blood vessels) , lots of wheat grass, barley grass and other green drinks, I take about 2 to 3 servings a day…once or twice a year I go as high as 7 to 8 servings a day for about a month. Cinnamon, about a teaspoon a day…good for circulation and has anti- cancer/tumor properties. One of my recent additions to my diet, prunes and cranberries…great antioxidants Calcium… not just for bones. It plays a major role in keeping the body in an alkaline and high oxygen state. Some health experts claim that acid and low levels of oxygen are the main cause of almost all disease. Look into it…fascinating stuff! I take alpha lipoic acid…known as the " master " antioxidant. It is both fat and water soluble. It raises levels of NAC which in turn raises levels of Glutathione. It also acts as a heavy metal detoxifier. It is not very expensive, a big plus. Once a year I do a detox…just can't go into the details now. Once a year I do a tonification, mostly herbs…details latter if it comes up. There is more but I am getting tired, time for bed. rich , " kundaflame " <kundaflame wrote: > > is this herbal product good to take with K? > Fot-Ti-Tieng > Namaste > Craig >
Guest guest
, " Richard Eisenberg " <Pyaar333 wrote: > > Let's widen the subject. > Hi Richard and co... I've feel very strongly guided by the kundalini on all aspects of food and supplements. i think it's one area where it seems to come through consistently, hence I think it's an important aspect to this whole process. I've read a bit of the biology of K and found it interesting, but quite a lot of it over my head too! I haven't found the info contained in it to be very relevant to my experiences, and I'm not ready to give up cooked food yet! I really think it is very tailor made for the individual so its difficult to make broad recommendations. In fact the way the whole K experience manifests is really individual. i'e when I started on my awakening journey I was very interested in obtaining guidance by my higher self in all aspects of how I conduct my life in the world. So i have found that this is the way the k has manifested most strongly for me. But to answer your question I have been led to eat a high vege, high protein, not so much carbs diet. The veges I notice are very seasonal. I.E although I can get tomatoes all winter I never once had the urge to eat them as they are grown in less natural conditions. Very little fresh fruit interestingly, but that seems to be on the increase now that summer is coming, melons yes but only when seasonal. I did however start baking desserts every evening and this got me off refined sugars. The desserts contained dried fruits as the main sweetener. Lots of ice cream. Only non- homogenised milk. (Getting harder to obtain!). My cooking , which i felt was guided, frequently contains quite a bit of spice, but garlic was just about eliminated to my surprise. I am guided strongly as to what supplements to take and I have a lot on hand but i certainly don't take them all every day. You can dowse with a pendulum over a list to check what your needs are at any time and recheck from time to time. Or ask for a bodily signal to be given as a 'yes' and maybe an indicator for 'no.' Once you use a method like that it seems to strengthen the guidance connection re food etc or really anything you want to know. Well thats my experience anyway. Guest guest
thanks for all your responses, i've ordered super c complex and have started taking super b complex vitamins (I've got to slowly add all the vitamins, lol). As for diet I'm mostly vegetarian but I feel myself drawn toward finding out what the typical diet of the native americans in the se were eating (vegetable wise and fish), to eat more natural food for this area. craig
