juicer?

Hi Everybody:

I'm neophytelly going into this fasting thing, with a trial run right now, day

1, to see if it's possible. I have some questions on juice and juicers and root

stuff.

Potatoes, I LOVE potatoes! If potatoes are allowed then I'll have no problem.

But I think I'd like to try the liquid only version first. Can I use a blender

as a juicer? If so, what kinds of things can I " juice " ? Oranges, I could live

on those. Apples? Can't imagine much juice from them. I've heard carrots, I

love carrots. What else do I need to know?

I'm sure this info exists in the archives, but I'm not having much luck

" regergatating " it (good one Brad! lol)

Thanks in advance!

Love,

Bill

i think basically going all root veggies will give some benefit Bill.

Going with the juice of all root veggies would be even better.

Organic even more so if possible. So like just mentioned in a

post, you could use your blender, then strain the juice out if you

wanted. I was lucky and got my juicer second hand, almost brand new.

An apple or apple juice fast wasn't mentioned for Shaktipat, but it

has been talked about by and others here as being an excellent

cleanse fast if you are having health problems.

If you do get a juicer, you could try carrot juice with a tiny bit of

ginger for some ZANG!

Before I had the juicer, I would fast on carrot sticks and sweet

potatoes in the day, and have some potatoes cooked at night with a

bit of garlic, onion, carrot and perhaps some ginger or ginseng. I

might be going back to that for this shaktipat since my juicer is

having a timeout.

Be well!

Thanks Bradly, this is great info, I just ordered a real " peachy "

juicer for my wife for Christmas, which I'm going to use for the

Shaktipat fast :-) Also, I am trying out the fast thing right now

for the scatterfield, I'm on day 2 so far with only water throughout

the day and 1 McD sweet tea for " breakfast " . The juicer will be a

welcomed and likely a highly used toy for myself and my extremely

health conscious 9yo daughter.

Thanks for asking, back is getting worse, the steroid injection from

a year ago is wearing off, pain returning. Thinking about getting a

nerve ablation " back " there, as is my wife, hers is much, much worse

than mine. Que Sara, we move on...

All:

Day 2 of water fast, so far so good regarding hunger, but does anyone

get headaches when fasting? If so, is asperin or motrin or

acetomenophin prescribed? Or nothing? Or is it time to stop or just

tough it out?

Thanks,

Bill

Hi Bill,

The headache could be a sign of low blood sugar. Are you

getting grouchy?

Hi Dhyana,

I don't think so, but possibly. It's not going away, should I snort

a few lines of sugar? LOL

Hi Bill,

Everyone is different regarding fasting. There are many types of fast

to undertake and they do not all involve cutting out all solid food.

Pre Kundalini, I used to get headaches on a 3 day fast mainly because

I was coming off coffee and it would be the same for (normal)tea

drinkers. I now only drink peppermint tea or fresh ginger tea. Some

people get headaches because of carbohydrate withdrawal. This can be

found with people on Atkins or other low carb diets.

I Would not advise taking such strong painkillers as you suggested.

If need two paracetamol should suffice. If that does not work then

take your fast gradually, similar to the Muslim fast of Ramadan. Only

eat from darkness to sunset. Or only eat until mid day, each day.

Which ever fits into your life style.

Never fast when ill, pregnant, or under strong medication or

antibiotics. Best of all discuss all fasts with your Dr. before

starting. I hope this is of some help.

Blessings,

If you need to work and do other things the headaches are not good i

would think Bill, but follow your highest guidance!

Generally speaking, pain in any form can be a sign from the Kundalini

or the body that something is not right. Using a drug to block

the 'signal' or 'message' might not be a good idea. Better to try to

understand the message.

Like Skydancer said the headache could be the sudden withdrawl from

something like caffeine, or it could be the lack of food of some type

your body needs if in your fast you are still doing some types of work

and demanding physical activity. Thats why generally I think Chrism

suggests that the fasts are accompanied with a lot of prayer and

meditation. Prayer and meditation being good for our Kundalini and

shakti, and also because they are not too demanding on the body while

we are fasting.

But yet the question remains, are you pregnant Bill? It could explain

the headaches.... lol

I hope your family enjoys the juicer. And please post an update of your

condition on the healing site when you get a chance.

be well! bradly
