I started with internal martial arts which turn out to be different forms of meditation, I studied all sorts of non-standard science including material from theosophy, Walter Russell and others. There is a " scientific basis " starting in Crookes' periodic table that leads to the light. The only value of the " rational " explanation is that is supplements faith, that is, you can see why your faith is well founded. This may take away some of the fun of those unexpected manifestations. Most of that would be topics for other groups. Right now I'm interested in energy alignment and kundalini-opening.
