Hello everyone,

I have been on this list a week or so. (I was on another Kundalini list for a year or more back in 2004.) I put off this introduction because it seemed too large a task to put to paper, but then I thought I ought to introduce myself if I¢m going to do more than lurk.

It all started for me in earnest in 2003. I was driving along and had this huge ¡burst¢ in my chest--I thought I was having a heart attack. I started reading and learning. I¢ve read Energies of Transformation: A Guide to the Kundalini Process; Kundalini Tantra; Kundalini Evolution and Enlightenment; Kundalini and the Chakras; Spiritual Emergency: When Personal Transformation Becomes a Crisis; Ecstatic Body Postures; and The Five Tibetans. These are books I kept; there were others I loaned from various libraries and don¢t remember the titles. I read much on-line, too.

I have 37 typed pages of dreams, starting in 2000. And those are just the ones that were vivid, long-lasting and/or left behind physical sensations or emotional responses. I also have 4 typed pages of what I call ¡physical manifestations.¢ (I¢m a bit of a list maker, so that I don¢t have to try to remember everything.)

Anyway, I¢m glad to have found this list. I don¢t personally know anyone else who is going through this, and the only person I know who even knows of Kundalini suggested leaving it alone--that it¢s sort of like opening a can of worms or Pandora¢s box.

chrism, I very much enjoyed reading your post regarding moral choices.

Hi Electra, and thanks, I have read through the safeties and have been practicing most of them regularly for the past few years. For example, we haven't watched television in our house for more than nine years, and it has become a habit to keep my tongue up from my Reiki practice.

I do have a question, though, regarding the article, "Talking with family members about the Kundalini." I haven't talked to siblings or my mother about this (my father's deceased), but I do feel it's important to talk to my children about it, for two reasons. First, if anything 'weird' would happen, they wouldn't be afraid but would come to a place where they think, "It's no big deal; Mom gets weird sometimes." Secondly, if they should experience any K symptoms themselves, they wouldn't be afraid. Instead of going it alone, as I did, they would be able to talk about it with me. My youngest son (age 9) spins like a fiend--100 times a day! And his favorite food has always been watermelon. When my eldest son was 4, I found him cowered under a table, because he saw 'the wall move.'It seems that in all my reading over the years, I've never found anything that discusses children. "Family"

always seems to consist of siblings, parents, spouse. 'What about the children?' I always end up asking? As a single parent, every decision I make must take into account my kids.Carolyn

I think the article is reffering to family members who may not understand kundalini and think you are insane..... :-))If you are around similar people who are open to such things talking about the Kundalini is a beautiful thing and can be enjoyed I believe, especially with so many precious young beings on the planet right now. So enjoy sharing this with your children, I tell everyone about the kundalini in my life, if you know me you know I practice Kundalini yoga and love God, I enjoy the looks of bewilderment I get from my family and friends who are not "into" these kinds of things and relish being the "crazee" aunt or the kookie sister.Much love and joy, elektra x x x
