Guest guest
Hi everyone... I know I am generally a silent lurker these days but I am always in the background, always reading, always interested and always sharing with you all. My outwards silence is merely reflective/indicative of my current path. ) My dreams for a long time have been filled with flying. In fact from childhood, but over the last six months they have occurred on a nightly basis it seems. Interestingly I always remember them well. I was thinking a little about them today after an especially enjoyable one last night when a few observations became apparent. First allow me to relate my dream... I was walking along what appeared to be a beautiful and relaxing beach edge/cliff. Some people were nearby basking in the tranquility. I took off my jacket and whatever else wasn't necessary and ran in a circle to gather momentum before gracefully sailing from the edge with arms outstretched. I realized that my arms made no difference but it felt/looked more like flying (for anyone that might see me I think). I silently glided along an abundant expanse of pristine green lawn with grandiose trees lining the sides. It appeared I wasn't at the beach at all, though this was the furthermost thing from my mind. Children played ball games below me and lovers strolled, all enjoying the environment. I yelled out to those below. Some children spotted me and began to run towards the end of the park where I was gliding towards. Near the end one grabbed a foot in playfulness - that was a surprise - I didn't realize I had floated so low. I landed they laughed and gathered round. They weren't asking how I flied, they weren't surprised or wanting to fly themselves - it was just a natural " at one with the moment " event for everyone. I once again took off back the way I had come remembering I had left my jacket and other stuff back on the cliff. I didn't think anyone would take it but it was just lying in the center of a lookout type area so why tempt fate? The children ran below still laughing... EOD - something woke me up... Upon reflection it becomes apparent the ego takes a back seat as result of allowing only the moment to exist. If one accepts only the moment then what good are reflections or expectations or objects that only have purpose in past or future? I did notice my ego when (a) preparing to take off and (b) when stretching my arms and © when yelling to attract attention. The ego is what gives us our sense of self. It wants good things also, without it I would not have wanted to share the experience with those around me in the dream. IMHO though the ego is necessary it is though our spiritual pursuits/intent that we choose to allow the dysfunctional elements to be healed. Any comments are welcome... Love, glen. Guest guest
Hi glen, I was just thinking of you a few days ago and wondering how you are doing. It good to hear from you and thanks for sharing your beautiful flying dream. I have never given much thought about the ego being there in our dreams, but of course it is. I am just setting here and reflecting on the part it played in my last remembered dream. Thanks again, Linda , " gleno " <gleno wrote: > > Hi everyone... Guest guest
Hello Glen! *HUG* It's good to know you are still out there. I have always looked at dreams of flying/levitating as indicative of spiritual growth taking place. It has been true for me and for many on the dream groups. Sounds like your growth is in overdrive. Good for you! I agree with you about where the ego peeks it's head out. Directing attention to oneself would be a function of the ego. I have been seeing (with some embarrassment) how much my ego used to take part in my actions. In a way though, seeing this means that I have moved somewhat beyond where I was, which is good. I find myself thinking often "In the past I would have done this...but now I do this". Recently I have found myself doing certain things for which I don't want any recognition, whereas before I would bask in the thanks of how "selfless" I was being (how ironic). I still have faaaaaar to go, but I am encouraged by the progress and I thank you for bringing up this train of thought. Best wishes to you and yours, Sarita , "gleno" <gleno wrote:>> Hi everyone... Guest guest
Hi Gleno – another frequent flyer! lol I fly frequently in my dreams and have done so since I was little. When I first started flying it was in a swimming type motion through the air and invariably around my home then. Now I fly often in a very relaxed mode using the wind in a semi glider type fashion with arms outstretched catching the wind. And then there are times when I fly superman style when I'm under pressure and need to get places fast. Recently some of my `flights' have been upgraded to `Concorde status' where I just `think myself' at my dream destination and instead of a slow flight I am instantly there! I now `visit' all sorts of unknown places in my flights but most often places at a sea coast for some reason. Whatever mode I fly in the feeling is incredible and I actually go to sleep wanting to fly! Two aspects of my flying – the first being that despite how hard I try to teach others to fly as it is so simple I am the only person in my dreams who can, and secondly, many years ago I had a problem in my dream flying of not being able to get through solids. After many dreams of crashing into walls and the likes I `developed' a process that allowed me to change my lattice spacing and get through whatever I wanted to! The term that arose in my dreams of this lattice change was `phasing'! What are your going to do with your `frequent flyer miles' ? lol Blessings - Jonathan
