Guest guest
Hi Linda, Gnosticism was around long before Jesus walked on the earth. When the gnostics incorporated Jesus and His disciples into their belief system it turned out " gnostic Christianity. " Which, of course, is different from what the early disciples and apostles, who were with Jesus during His time here, wrote to the early Churches as instruction in " The Way " (which Christianity was called at that time), and was then incorporated into the Jewish Scriptures as the Old and New Covenant of God's dealings with Mankind. It is what it is, and definitely not for everyone. Love, dhyana , " Linda " <crazycats711 wrote: > > Kind of makes you wonder were his source is from, since it is nothing > like the christian bible. Guest guest
Thanks Dhyana, do you know of any gnostic books/writings that were written before they incorprated Jesus into their belief system. I would like to read some of those to see what their befiefs where before Jesus came into the picture. I have no problems with other religions and what they believe. I am interested in knowing about them. I do have a problem with the way some people quote from other sources and state it is from the christian bible, just for the purpose of making their theories and beliefs sound more authentic. These are done in a way that is condecending towards the christian religions. There has been a big increase in it since back in the fall. Some on the net even state their goal is to irraticate christianity, believing it to be the cause of all the worlds woes and they call themselves enlightened. :0 Linda , " novalees " <dhyana wrote: > > Hi Linda, > > Gnosticism was around long before Jesus walked on the > earth. Guest guest
Linda I believe the Essenes were one of those Gnostic groups and the Dead Sea scrolls are some of their writings. There are those who say Jesus joined the group but apparently not. If that were modern day we could say (as a parallel) he went for pizza occasionally but didn't buy the franchise. Love. Thanks.
