Guest guest
Hello Venugopal, The great Indian legacy of yoga and the influence of the Sanskriti peoples as you have mentioned before, are clearly indicative of the positive contributions of knowledge and experience with regard to the Kundalini that we have been blessed to receive from the Indian culture. Even though most contemporary Indians know very little of these experiences and conditions it is of that heritage that many understand the condition even to the point of the use of the word itself " Kundalini " as a way of understanding. Not all that has been lost has been found and we may yet read of a discovery that mentions the Kundalini. In my opinion the " Rig Veda " is a compendium of Kundalini information that only those with awakened Kundalini are meant to read. Yes I know this will not be accepted by academia and that is fine. There has been great mention of other conditions and substances that do have the qualities of moving an individual into enlightened states of being and these are documented in the ancient literature one example being that of SOMA the short path. By even having the idea of exalted states of enlightenment being possible they begin to tread into the fertile ground of the Kundalini. Even though it may not have been written or the writings may not have yet been found it is my feeling and belief that the sutras of yoga were designed by those who had a direct observation of a person going into the kriyas of the Kundalini. That kriyas resemble the yoga sutras is no accident in my humble opinion and I will state that Kundalini in the human being far predates any example of yoga written anywhere as it is contiguous with our physical being. Once again of course this will not be accepted by anyone in " authority " on these subjects but that it as it is. Venugopal I know your are a person of facts as concrete explanations of what is and what isnt and I do greatly appreciate your views on these subjects. Your posts and views are always a breath of India and of the many cultures that comprise her. Thank you for your presence and for putting up with my opinions! - , Venugopal AK <akvenugopal wrote: >Dear chrism and Bruce,I write from India. Guest guest
chism and Venugopal the first sutra asks what is yoga the second sutra tells about preparation of this yoga and that other yogas should be practiced/mastered first. raja yoga is laid out in four stages and or chapters, the last chapter incorporates bija samadhi of the perfected soul I believe before one can understand the process of raja yoga the ground work concerning the kundalini must be activated. My teacher would always tell me it is not time yet for people in general to tread the path of raja yoga; raja yoga is a state of mental activity and disciplined control and if forced would blow to many minds Satyananda would say that raja yoga was for those who are mystics. Kriya yoga is sold by the Satyananda Mob, though satyanada himself says that it is a mixture of hatha and raja yogas and is designed in such away for householders.
