Guest guest
She was 14 1/2. Even as every movement was painful, she still was still enjoying her life here. There was so much joy in her heart last summer when her daughter had a litter of puppies and she loved them so much. We kept 2 girls in the litter. She loved showing them she was the Queen of the place and letting them know they were just puppies. But last week her body started shutting down. She couldn't make it up or down the stairs into the house and when the joy was starting to go out of her eyes, I had to let her go. My vet humanely relieved her of her pain and I looked into her eyes until I could see she was gone thanking her for the time she had spent with me. The vet had agreed to let me have some time alone with her afterwards so I was able to hold her in my arms one last time. I had her cremated. My husband and I spread her ashes under some lovely young evergreen trees here on our 20 acres near our house. After spreading the ashes and saying a few words we let the other dogs out. One of the pups, her name is Mischief (now 9 mos old) looked over to the area where the ashes were spread and started barking. She seemed to be looking up in the air above the area. She sister was barking too and that got the others to barking. I couldn't get Mischief to stop barking so finally I just took them into the house. Today my husband took the dogs to that area and Mischief again was upset. Yesterday when none of the dogs were out my husband heard a dog behind him, he thought I had let a dog out and was really surprised that no dog was there. I hope that Chimes is finding her way in her new life. Would it be normal for her to stay with us for a short while? These are Australian Shepherds. Chimes brother came to me in a dream about a month after he died about a year and a half ago. He was young and happy, but I have never had anything like this happen before. Love to you all - Pat
Guest guest
Yes Pat they can be with you for a time. One can even see their footprints and familiar indentations on the bed or other furniture they habituated. My love goes out to you and your family as I have also experienced this kindness and quality of special love from our fellow mortals. Many blessings to you and your family and those members of your family staying to comfort before moving on. - , " Pat " <lookinglassaussies wrote: > > She was 14 1/2. Guest guest
Your family, including the dogs are in my heart. My daughter, Kjerstin, is also having a hard time with her aging doberman, Ziggy. Prayers and love sent your way. Jake

Guest guest
Pat, My heart goes out to you. I have had similar experiences with a number of cats over the years. Not to set any expectations, but keep your eyes and heart open -- if your karma together is not finished, you may find Chimes or her brother returning in another body and somehow finding you. Two of my cats have done this -- same personality, recognizing their favorite things from their previous incarnation, etc. And then there was another cat whose time with me this time around (we have had many incarnations together) was done, who went on to other adventures.... In any case, when you think of them or see them in dreams or spirit, send them love and best wishes on their ongoing journeys.... Love, David
Guest guest
Thanks David. How wonderful to recognize the spirit of a cat that has returned to spend more time with you! We are so fortunate to have these " angels " . Pat > > Pat, > > My heart goes out to you.
