Some Questions on the Shaktipat

Hey guys, this is open to all not just Chrism. Ive been hesitant about

posting this as to not sound completely clueless, but then common

sense told me not to be so stupid. Also, I considered that there could

well be other people thinking the same questions;

With the approach of the vernal shaktipat, Im taking it extremely

seriously and working hard to ensure my five tibetans are completed

twice daily along with my pranayama breathing excersises. Im really

noticing some great changes through this devotion, both mentally and

how I feel physically (all good!). I will also be doing the 3 days

fast before hand, despite my wife thinking Im a little odd she's going

along with it!

But it has me thinking more about what to expect from the shaktipat,

what the experiences are likely to be and more importantly what the

longer term effects are.

The explanation for the shaktipat seems different from what my general

understanding was/is. It is not an attunement or instant

gratification, so in essence it is not a kundalini awakening, that

much I do understand. Its a much gentler experience. This leaves me a

little confused as to what I should be expecting, and what it really

is?

So any insight would be greatefully recieved, and also any peoples

first hand experiences from previous shaktipats would also be greatly

beneficial. Hope this makes some sense, dont want it to come across

like Im going into this blindly as thats not the case.

Thanks and blessings as always

Andy
