Guest guest
I have been part of this community for the last 3 months. Here is a list of my K (and other) practices, mostly based on guidance I have received from and some based on my habits and prior practices:-). I do the 5 Tibetans daily (21 reps, sometimes 15) followed by compression breathing (15 cycles) and 20 minutes of meditation. I am a naturally forgiving person (as in, I do not usually dwell on things for too long and treat everything as a learning experience), so this has not been too much of a problem for me. I have not had any problems with Inner Joy either, for some reason. Things are pretty much on balance. I walk barefoot in my back yard for at least 5 minutes every day (longer on weekends) and am typically barefoot at home. I pray twice a day for about 5 minutes each (AM and PM) just to offer my thanks to the Divine for everything that has been bestowed upon me in this life. I also work out at the gym (or at least try to) 3 times per week including cardio (on the elliptical), stair-step, and weights just to maintain my muscle tone. I repeat the Shakti prayer (earth, air,…) at least 3 times per day (in sets of 3). I also have two crystal bowls on either side of my bed with Carnations floating in spring water (Arrowhead), a white flower on the right side signifying Shiva (the side I sleep on) and a red flower on the left side signifying Shakti (the side Usha sleeps on). I change these out every three days, burying the red flower in the garden and leaving the white flower out in the sun to dry and wither away. I chant the Shakti prayer when I pour water into the crystal bowls and put the flowers in (each time). Regarding my diet, I make sure I have a glass of fresh organic carrot juice (sometimes mixed with beets, ginger and any other vegetable that's there) every day. Three times a week (Mon, Wed, Fri), I take vitamin supplements (Vitamin C complex, B100, zinc, grape seed, selenium and Vitamin E) and daily, I take omega 3 and garlic pills. I also take two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar mixed in a glass of water 5 times a week (don't ask me why… I heard it's good for cholesterol control). My diet is 90% vegetarian, and about 3 times a month I may have some chicken or turkey or fish. I eat lots of fresh fruit daily. I drink at least 48oz of water daily. I have been doing the chakra breathing for the last 3 weeks starting with the mooladhara chakra and going up to the Ajna chakra (third eye). has told me specifically NOT to go all the way to the top. I have started actually feeling energy move up as I practice this. Chrism has also advised me to start getting massages to help remove blockages (using a mixture of 50% each virgin olive oil and organic peanut oil) followed by a cleanse (hand towel) of warm water and alcohol to remove the oil. I need to get going on this. I also need to confirm the exact pattern for the massage (where to start and how to proceed through the various parts of the body). That's it for now. Hope I didn't put everyone to sleep :-)) Namaste Krish
Guest guest
Thank you for sharing Krish - always welcome your insights and thoughts. You seem to have the practice will in hand - you must have been here before since you jumped right into this. I applaud your dedication. You are a good example of what and how to do the safeties. e
Guest guest
Hi Krish, Thank you for a peek into your daily practice and I also applaud you for doing so well. Just one question? Do you have a full time job out of the home and if not how do you manage the mundane paying of bills etc? I ask this because I spend a great part of my day in meditation, safeties and Tibetans etc. But I do not work. If I did work full time I doubt if I could spend as much time on my spiritual pursuits. I only manage because J works. Blessings and love to your wife, Skydancer x , " " . wrote: > > Thank you for sharing Krish - always welcome your insights and thoughts. Guest guest
Iona, Unfortunately, not. I do have a very demanding full time job. I typically leave home for work at around 7:15 Am and don't get back till around 6:30 PM or so. I have been very blessed to be able to multi task and never feel overwhelmed. Most of my bills are e-bills and are paid electronically, so I just need to monitor them. I do this during lunch time at work, so it doesn't interfere with other things. Again, I have been blessed to be able to do this. I just try to be flexible all the time with regards to my schedule so I don't get stressed out if something planned doesn't happen. There are days I have to cut the 5 Ts down to 12 or 15 just for lack of time. But I make sure I do the compression breathing and 20 minutes of meditation. The weekends end up being quite hectic as I have many things at home to catch up on (including going for a walk with my dear wife, my gym workouts and the K practice), so I am really bushed by the time the day is over. I do have my moments of course, but they are, thankfully, few and far between. Warm regards krish , " Skydancer " <ionaskydancer wrote: > > Hi Krish, > > Thank you for a peek into your daily practice and I also applaud y
Guest guest
Practice and work Very difficult balance I leave my house for work, my full time job, at about 6:00 am. To do my morning practice (K and yoga etc.) I get up at about 3:00 - 3:20 am…that's right 3:00 in the morning. To get up that early I sacrifice my evenings. I try to get to bed between 8:00 and 9:00. This is not easy for me! I am a night person, just love to stay up late and sleep until noon. Also I am very careful about my food choices and supplements. (too much detail to go into unless someone really wants to read it all.) I prepare my food and supplements for the next day at night…again not easy to do when I am trying to go to bed early. I also want to spend some time with my wife and relaxing with my TV, I just love getting engrossed in a good movie. rich , " scorpio92600 " <scorpio92600 wrote: > > Iona, > Unfortunately, not. Guest guest
Rich, You are absolutely correct... it is a very difficult balance indeed! Not being a morning person myself, I end up trying to fit everything into the evening hours. I go to bed around 11 PM. I have trained myself to not get wound up if I don't do the things I planned to do. I used to get upset about this, but not any more. In the end, its a question of balance and working with what we have, I guess.
