Guest guest
Greetings all. The past week or so I have seen the elephant symbol appear numerous times (drawings, all facing left), the most recent in the photos file of the muladhara chakra. I have been having recent activity in this chakra, is the elephant symbol merely resonanting with this experience? What is the meaning of the elephant in this context? Thanks in advance for your thoughts, Namasté ~Delia " As below, so above; and as above so below. With this knowledge alone you may work miracles. Guest guest
Delia, Greetings. This is what I understand of the Muladhara chakra: It is believed that the Muladhara is a subtle abode of the Hindu God, Ganapati (elephant God). It is associated with the following: Deities: Ganesha, Indra, Brahma and Dakini Element: Earth Colour and shape: yellowsquare on a Red lotus Animal: An Elephant with seven trunks. Body Parts: Anus, Nose, Hamstrings, Calves, Feet So, I believe it is not a coincidence that you are being drawn to elephant images... Just my 2 cents.. Warm regards krish , " idelos " <gypsy.eire wrote: > > Greetings all. > > The past week or so I have seen the elephant symbol appear numerous times (drawings, all facing left), the most recent in the photos file of the muladhara chakra. Guest guest
Hi Delia, A few moths ago I also saw elephants everywhere and also dreamed of 3 large black elephants. It is not an animal I had taken much notice of before. Chrism told me it was a vision of Ganesh, the Hindu Elephant God, so I googled 'Ganesh' and read up on his attributes etc. It may be useful for you to do the same as something you read may resonate with you and have a deeper meaning. Good luck in your search, Skydancer x , " idelos " <gypsy.eire wrote: > > Greetings all. > > The past week or so I have seen the elephant symbol appear numerous times (drawings, all facing left), the most recent in the photos file of the muladhara chakra. Guest guest
I agree with Krish Delia, In the Kundalini context the Elephant is often experienced as the Ganesha (Ganapati) deity and can be this regardless of the faith or belief system of the individual having these experiences. One doesnt need to be Hindu to see and experience the attributes of a Hindu god or any sacred divine personage. You might wish to honor this spiritual being and say this prayer: Ommm Gana oom twum ganapati hava ma hey covin covina moo pama shavasta mum Jay shterda jum Bramina Braminum aspata ah na ha Nasem vanu tibi see da sa da num Ommm Say it out loud before you go to bed. Dont worry about understanding these phonetics. They are a communication with this spiritual being in a very positive sense and it will be understood by them. - blessings Delia. - chrism
Guest guest
Krish, Thanks for the validation! I have always been drawn to Ganesh. Namasté ~Delia " As below, so above; and as above so below. Guest guest
Chrism, Thank you for the clarification, and the Ganesh prayer. I shall proceed as suggested. This seems so perfect as I have always felt a strong and affectionate affinity with Ganesh in particular. In fact, this morning I awoke in the early morning hours, a Ganesh mantra floated up to my thoughts--Om gum Ganapatayei namaha--accompanied by male/female voices speaking softly and heat/movement up my back, so i repeated the mantra mentally until I fell back asleep. A recent occurrence has been waking up early, usually by heat rising up my back and/or the sound chanting, music, singing, or male/female voices talking (though I can't often hear the words--except for a few days ago the male voice said 'wake up, wake up' and the heat began to rise up the spine). Are these voices associated with any specific deity/personage? I have also heard them speak during waking hours, saying my name, and asking 'are you ready?' Also the other day while listening to shamanic drumming started to hear a voice singing with the drum. At first this frightened me, but I try to remember to just listen to the sounds and let go of fear. But it seems so loud sometimes (been very noise and odor sensitive lately). Synchronicity at the library tonight--I spotted a volume on Ganesh in Hindu culture/religion, which of course I immediately checked out! Thanks for your thoughts on these matters. Guest guest
Skydancer, Thanks for sharing your experience with elephant signs. I haven't dreamt of any yet, or seen any elephants on the street but today they're everywhere in media. I did in fact find a great book on Ganesh at the library today, " Loving Ganesh: Hinduism's endearing elephant-faced god " with loads of illustrations, mantra and other practices, even some Ganesh puzzles. Do you know if it is usual to have signs/symbols from various deities appear throughout the course of a kundalini unfolding (perhaps related to the various chakras as they are activated)? Or is one deity likely to be one's primary " sponsor " throughout? I've also been seeing lots of snakes the past few weeks as well (it's pretty funny, changing channels how often snakes appear on the screen as I flip thru channels!) It just occurred to me that the wavelike motion I've been feeling in my spine/back the last 2 weeks not only feels snakelike, but rather like being carried on the back of a large creature, swaying and undulating, if you know what I mean?
