Guest guest
Chrism asked me to post a few considerations on my experiences with shamanic journeying. I understand that this will be quite " out there " for many list members, and I apologize if it is a little on the wild side: shamanism is not everybody's cup of tea, of course. In my case, my K seems to have taken me on this path, and I find there is much to explore there. The shamanism I practice is in no way " classic " , but it is a blend of very basic cross-cultural cosmology and techniques and my own cultural background. I don't borrow from cultures that have nothing to do with my own life, but let spirits and symbols manifest as they see it fit. Also, when I look at my experiences and make sense of them, I try not to take anything for granted (there is a lot of info in books and websites, but that does not mean it is accurate or should be taken at face value). One last consideration: spirits and above all deities one meets while shamanizing are not " God " as we usually like to imagine him/her when we sit in a church, or a mosque, or a synagogue. Rather, they are more akin to the Hindu notion of somewhat limited (and personified) manifestations of a Divine Brahman that cannot be grasped in Its entirety. In this sense, gods and goddesses are highly powerful and highly knowledgeable intermediaries who help humans on their quest. Namaste, Sel -------------------- Hi Chris, I know you are superbusy these days, but I am developing a journeying practice and have a few thoughts I'd like to run by you. 1. Dancing. There is a LOT of dancing involved (I use a drumming mp3 file). Most of the spirits dance, I dance, everybody dances. I am getting the hunch that this is not a form of entertainment, but rather something else meant to bring about results. 2. Shape-shifting. During a journey today, I morphed into three different animals: an elk with huge horns, a blue bear (which was and was not me), and a small fluffy chick which then turned into a bird through the help of a god. Is this instability normal? 3. Spirits and deities. I see TONS of animal spirits (all of them dancing) plus some cartoon characters (including flying M & M candies, which once helped me build my antahkarana). Today I had a nice and unexpected encounter with the Roman god Mars, who helped me grow my wings, learn how to fly, and become an adult bird. I was very surprised, since I went in trying to reach out to Shiva. Why Mars? I don't know. This might have to do with my Mediterranean background, though this is not something I ever pursued. I wonder if there are any astrological issues involved (I know nothing about astrology). 4. My journeys have some very traditional shamanic features, but much of the work at this stage is on healing myself and building my antahkarana. I seem to be conjuring up a very hybrid cosmos that integrates my spiritual quest rather than simply reflect the pragmatism of traditional shamanism. Guest guest
Hi Selena, I was just reading yesterday, a book by Samuel Aun Weor, " Mysteries of the Fire (Kundalini Yoga) " and he stated that he was Samuel the Logos of Mars. He also says he is the initiator (Cosmic Christ) of the New Aquarius Era. Hehe! That is quiet a bold statment to make about one's self. Praja-patis or Elohim ....seven serpent dragons of Wisdom - seven planetary Logos. (Somewhere else recently I have read that the Elohim in the book of Genesis is the Seven Spirits surounding the throne of God in Revelation.) @@Prajapatis: " Progenitors, the givers of life to all on the earth. They are seven and ten- corresponding to the seven and ten Kabbalistic Sephiroth; to the Mazdean Amesha Spentas, etc. " @@ I looked up that word (prabhupati) Julie mentioned in one of her post to you yesterday becasue it looked so similar to prajapatis. To master the universe or master one's personal universe inside, one's whole personality would be absorbed into the Innermost (Atman). That would mean completing the seven degrees of power of the fire (kundalini) in which one would become christified. There are seven serpents of Kundalini...seven degrees of power of the fire. The septenary constitution of the human being is: 1. Atman - the Innermost - relates to 7th chakra 2. Buddhi - the Consciousness, the divine Soul - relates to 6th chakra 3. Superior Manas - - the Human Soul, willpower, Causal Body - relates to 5th chakra 4. Inferior Manas - the Mind, Mental body - relates to 4th chakra 5. Kama-rupa - the body of desires, the Astral body - relates to 3rd chakra 6. Linga-sarira - the vital (etheric) body - relates to 2nd chakra 7. Sthula-sarira - the physical body - relates to 1st chakra Each of the seven bodies has its own spinal medulla, its shudhumna-nadi and Brahmanadi. One whole personality has to be absorbed into the innermost to become christified. For some time now I have been understanding that Shiva is the solar or male counterpart of Shakti, of which both together are the Holy Spirit, the third member of the Triune Godhead. Would that mean the seven planetery logos (the Elohim) would be the begotten Son, the second member of the God. ??? Also, the man Jesus was the total of all those seven Logos since he was given the title of Lord of Lord and King of Kings? Just some of my thoughts about this. I wonder if the seven stars over his head in the book of Revelations is the symbol of that. The following is some astralogical, chakra, planet connections I gathered. 1st Chakra Saturn - Capricorn (Earth) 2nd Chakra Pluto-- Scorpio is rule by Pluto and Mars ( water) 3rd Chakra Sun and Mars - Aries - Mars, Leo - Sun (both fire) 4th Chakra Venus --Taurus & Libra Taurus (earth), Libra (air) 5th Chakra Mercury and Jupiter-- Mercury is both Gemini & Virgo's ruling planet, Jupiter rules Sagittarius - Gemini (air) , Virgo (earth), Sagittarius (fire) 6th Chakra Neptune -- Pisces is ruled by Neptune & Jupiter - (water) 7th Chakra Uranus (Cancer is ruled by the moon water sign) I could not find where the moon or Cancer is connect with one of the chakras, but I would say it would be connected to the second chakra. It seems more fitting than Pluto to me. None of these sites I searched mentions the planet Earth or what chakra or astrological sign it rules. I would say it would be connected to the 1st chakra. It goes with Capricorn being an Earth sign, too. The planet Uranus did not have an astrology sign or element connected to it. In Dhyana's chakra info she has been posting it says the 7th chakras element is (earth). I am not so sure I would agree with that assessment of Anodea Judith's. I think maybe the element would be etheric instead.?? esp, after reading the following: @@@ THE SEVENTH CHAKRA: The planet Uranus corresponds to this center of energy. At this level of awareness you are able to see all events as a reflection of God's Will. (If you are uncomfortable with the term 'God', then substitute Spirit, Universal Force, Great Spirit, or however you choose to recognize this divine energy.) When out of balance, people trying to express this energy can become extremely depressed, full of obsessive thoughts, and confused. Because this energy/chakra operates at such a high vibrational frequency one must become selfless. Hanging onto ego-awareness brings up images of bleakness and morbidness. HOW TO STRENGTHEN THE 7TH CHAKRA: At this level, one must " become empty to become full " . Many spiritual writings refer to the body as an empty vessel that best expresses its spiritual potentials when it allows itself to be moved by Spirit. Even in the world of sports, there are all kinds of anecdotes by athletes who claim they suddenly entered a quiet space, and they were able to perform physical feats that they were not otherwise capable of doing. Many people on a personal crusade will say that they had no need of sleep or food - they were driven by Spirit to perform a selfless act that was beneficial to others. Guest guest
I'd like to replace all occurences of 'selfless' with 'selfish'. I don't like to do selfless service for others, honestly it doesn't feel very good. Then I found out why. In trying to fix, trying to solve, trying to line up with people who were having some kind of problem I wasn't operating at that higher vibrational frequency, I wasn't keeping me and Me together. OTOH it feels GREAT to do selfish service for others. When you are in line with All That Is and inspire other people to get there too, it is fantastic! And if they don't get it, they don't. No real problem in that. The real issue is not lying down with the dogs and getting up with the (spiritual) fleas. Doesn't help you, doesn't help anyone else by extension. And then you've gotta go mucking around in the flea dip. Sarah From: crazycats711Date: Tue, 17 Mar 2009 23:11:52 +0000 Re: Shamanic K @@@ THE SEVENTH CHAKRA:obsessive thoughts, and confused. Guest guest
Do the dancing alone, get a mirror and put something you like on, move your body in sections, first enjoy the hips, feel how they move in any direction, then the shoulders, then the arms, etc, until you have felt the whole body. Then just feel a simple rhythm through the body, put some drumming on, and just move to the beat in a simple tribal movement, really enjoy your body , no ones watching so who cares? This is a great way to get to know your body and dance, lose yourself in the mirror, love yourself and all life, feel the music vibrate with your chakras..Hope these give you some enjoyment. Naked or costume is nice, decorate yourself before the dance with scarves or dress, make up or anything you like really.Love elektra dancing rabbitx x x
