Guest guest
Before you give up everything and move to India for good, make sure you take an exploratory trip of a month or so. India is the most fascinating country on earth, but it can be pretty hard on unprepared Westerners. For one, do not assume that everybody in India knows how to deal with the K. For centuries, Indian gurus have warned against raising the K; those who worked with it have kept the practice highly secret. Take a look at Gopi Krishna's autobiography: he had the hardest time finding guidance after a spontaneous awakening, and he was living in India. Furthermore, spiritual tourism has become a booming business in India, catering to westerners and helping them part from their dollars. This doesn't sound nice, but it's the unfortunate truth. I apologize for sounding a little harsh. I do not mean to discourage you, but please consider that the ultimate sacred ground is where you stand right now. What you are looking for is not a geographical location, bur rather a place deep inside yourself. Guest guest
India is no more adept at giving council to those inside of the Kundalini than the west. Ancient India perhaps but not contemporary India. They have ancient manuscripts and documents and they fight over what the " true " meanings of these are. Gurus abound and saints that display phenomena. Some are excellent teachers and some are as far from that as they could be. Many people in India regard the Kundalini through fear and try to avoid it. Not all but many do. Some teachers are there for a price. They must be a good teacher because they are so, so expensive right? For the price of a new Rolls Royce " enlightenment will be bestowed upon thee my child! " - lol. Take a breath and slow down Mark. India has an acceptance of the Kundalini that is more than in the west imho. But they do not have a better grasp of Kundalini. It is simply more integrated into the society than it is in the west and so there is that advantage. Any Guru worth their salt will council you to take your instruction from the Shakti Kundalini herself. If the Guru has the Kundalini and can help from their own experience then so much the better. Anyone can say they have the Kundalini and this is common especially within certain forms of broad based commercial enterprises. Rieki and white powder gold enthusiasts, channellers and psychics like to assign the word Kundalini to people who have no knowledge of it based on a few symptoms that they have read on the web. Not ALL people in these interests do this but many do. These people abound and they can be seen as the tests of discernment that we can sometimes require in order to find the teacher we can best learn from. A person will receive as many versions of how to be with the Kundalini from those in India as there are side walk gurus willing to give their advice. Like me lol! I hang out on the corner of Awakening and Kundalini Avenues. The stop light there is red orange and yellow. I shout like a crazy person at those who walk by, and sometimes I get to shine a shoe. I will suggest that you make no huge decisions at this time. Let yourself be guided by the Kundalini as it is the best teacher for your personal situation. You do NOT require an in person Guru though your ego and fear may tell you that you do. Once again these are fear responses. Fear of being alone with this and fear of the unknown qualities that come with the Kundalini. So I suggest that you collect yourself and take a look at how you can find your balance without succumbing to fear. No teacher is going to eliminate your fear for you Mark. This is YOUR job my friend. A teacher can give you suggestions and help you on your path hopefully with authentic experienced based wisdom. But it is you who will do the work and reap the rewards. I feel your best option right now Mark is to " feel " what is occurring and to accept without fear the changes. Do not believe everything you read about the Kundalini on the internet! You are NOT in danger. Your are fine and you can have your job and your life and your Kundalini. Yes some adjustments will be required but that is so with any kind of change that comes into a person's life. - blessings to you whatever you do Mark. Care for a shoe shine? - chrism

There are pretty girls begging everywhere, to be honest it gets really annoying, as they dont leave you in peace. Go on holiday and love it, but go with an open mind dont go looking for anything, if you find something it will be the awe of these lovely people living happily without all the things we think are necessary to our lives. Guest guest
Yes, that's the India that frequently meets the eye of Westerners. There is yet another India that travelers don't really get to pay much attention to, but that is prevalent once you settle there. It's the India of the expanding urban middle-classes with their iphones, their plasma TVs, and their SUVs. And then there is the India of the bourgeoisie, of which you can get a faint idea only by watching Bollywood movies (outsiders are not welcome such circles). Some relatives of mine (the rich branch of the family) celebrated a wedding a week ago, and I was told that the ceremony was introduced by dancers carrying baskets with bags of gold coins, which they graciously handed to the guests. Women in attendance only wore diamond jewelry, and those who donned 22 karate gold sets were slightly embarrassed because plain gold is, oh, so passe'. Families with children brought their own nannies, who drove in separate cars (you don't mix with the help). The ratio was of one nanny per child, plus a couple of spare servants just in case. And so on, and on, and on. This hyperconsumption is in stark contrast with all the " mystic India " and slumdog millionaire images we happily consume in the West--and yet, that's India, too. Guest guest
everyone speaks about the yoga and meditation practise that they had before there k rised. i have not had this. others talk about how not to raise it yourself because it will come when its ready and if your not emotionally ready or karma ready then it will be tough for you. i have no real expertise in meditation or yoga or energy work. i have not found anyone local who can help me either. im conversing with people who are on the other end of the timezone i feel i need a guide or a teacher.. i dont feel confident. im not sure if i am having an awakening. could there be other reasons why im getting a back ache and euphoria. i mean like is there instances of symptoms and then people control them. i feel like im a bit trapped in this house i dont have any local freinds i would just like to have someone who is k awake who i can touch.. and who would be there for me when i hit some stumbling blocks if i set it off and i was not ready for it and it has to clear blockages from my past lives ive been told i was a bit of a shit in the previous few. chrism sorry for being so much in doubt i have many questions this whole thing is new to me and i want love to you and all in here btw are all posts moderated , " island.babe " <island.babe wrote: > > , " selena255 " <selena@> wrote: > > > > Before you give up everything and move to India for good, make sure you take an exploratory trip of a month or so. Guest guest
Namastewith deep honor and respect what you have written Chrism. . .and truly here what you and selena have written. . .but wanted to add that for some a teacher is a most sacred part of their path. . . or at least it has been for myself. . .i have been working with three teachers from India for the past ten years and i am most grateful for their guidance and love that has lighted the path. . .i also have dear friends from india and find them to be such beautiful people. . . they have too been such grace. . .as i read the comments my heart felt sad for i have been held with such an inexpressible love and committment from my teachers from india. . .in truth i came to the place with the kundalini journey over twelve years ago when i got in over my head. . .and no matter what i attempted was not able to transform the crisis without help. . .i did not go seeking the teachers. . .they found me. . .and have offered such love, healing, and compassion. . . .not once in the past ten years has there ever been a time that money was mentioned. . .and the connection has never become about materialism. . . just wanted to share a bit from someone that has had a loving experience with teachers from india along the path of Kundalini Ma. . .i needed a teacher. . .and i so grateful they came forth . . . they have given so very much so selflessly. . .it would hurt my heart if i could not speak the love and goodness of their guidance. . . and truly understand where you are coming from, for each of us must take responsibility of our sacred, and no one else cando it for us. . .with love and light and honorordinary sparrow , "chrism" <> wrote:>> This excellent advice from Selena bears repeating. - > > "Please consider that the ultimate sacred ground is where you stand right now. Guest guest
I am reading much of the fears propounded by the internet in your words Mark. So let me address them. Yoga and meditation are not required for Kundalini to rise. For those " wishing " and willing to have the Kundalini rise in them or are in need of some balance these practices are fine. Not a requirement. Sometimes Kundalini comes all by itself. We have Kundalini dormant within us as humans. If a person sows the seeds of love into an intention of raising the flower of Kundalini within them then they are worthy of its expression within them. Sometimes we need to lift a finger in order to experience certain states of being such as the Kundalini. It is far better to have by intention rather than have it thrust upon one unexpectedly eh Mark? Does a farmer look out upon fertile feilds and tell themselves " Well if I need food for the winter it will just come when its ready. " Or do the Ants and creatures of the of the field simply kick back and make no preparations for the coming winter? No the preparations are made. Same with the Kundalini. We prepare in order to receive. If your Karma wasnt allowing you to have Kundalini you wouldnt even have heard of it. Emotions are important to balance and yes this is necessary. We are not always blessed with having everything our desires and ego's would want us to have inside of the Kundalini. Sometimes we must struggle to find the rivers of strength we have inside of us. There are two people that I know of in England who I feel have the Kundalini. I will send them to you off list and please keep them that way. - Many blessings to you Mark and be at peace with the Kundalini. - chrism
