Guest guest
We are on the border of New Mexico in Tucumcari- we made excellent time today - hard to believe we are here. Zach pulled an all day driving stint- the weather was gorgeous - overcast this morning after a glorious thunder lightning storm last night - I love storms and the rain was very heavy yet today - not a drop- I recalled how at the last seminar in Ojai when chrism and I had to go pick up brad at the LA airport we were told to leave early for the traffic was very heavy after a certain time- well we did not leave early as we drove it was as if a path was opened just like the river for moses - it was really a nice feeling to be taken care of and today it felt the same - the path was clear - no traffic no construction we just glided along - from 10 to 8 we were on the road - we stopped a few times and the topography - oh the beauty of this country- from flat fields of grain to raised little hills to mesas small mountains gorges cut out by water thousands of years ago that now are dry with all kinds of colored rocks embedded in the sides of the gorge- lots of I think sagebrush standing in the fields like little sentinels ready to dance- they are short fat bushes sparsely branched - so cute out in the fields and then every once in awhile some trees - not many - there were some pine trees at the beginning of today but those quickly disappeared- the ground coloring change as we go - then we saw the huge windmills that generate electricity - so many of these-one entire raised plateau was lined with them - like guards overlooking the valley - I think they are a wonderful alternative source of energy but I have to say - they ruin the hillside of its natural beauty - it gives a very techno appearance - alien in a way to the landscape we saw some well fed cattle out in the fields with the little ones as well as some goats and then we went past a beef farm - no words to describe this - also we saw lots of horses many pinto horses that are so pretty with the colorings of many hues and shapes- and we saw armadillos on the side of the road - way too many to count - they must be slow animals they do not make it across the hwy fast enough- poor guys we listened to abit of wayne dyers meditation on the tao -pachebel-the dixie chicks - josh turner - shanti shanti- dan fogelburg - zach is being very kind to listen to my music - tomorrow we are heading in to Santa FE to tool about and then on to Los Alamos where we will stay with a couchsurfing couple I met in my search for a room - it will be fun meeting them - now we will begin a little vacation - up to now it has been getting here - now we are here and free to enjoy the sights - have camera will take shots... ty for reading my little adventure - e
Guest guest
Thanks for sharing your trip with us , I hate for it to be over. @@@lots of I think sagebrush standing in the fields like little sentinels ready to dance- they are short fat bushes sparsely branched - so cute out in the fields @@@ Those cute bushes sound like tumble weeds. James and I live out in that part of the country for about 10 yearsor so, back in the 70's/ 80's. It's a lot of fun to dodge those tumbleweeds when the winds uproot them and send them across the roadways. Hehe! I got quite good at it. To bad about the poor armadillos. I don't think it's so much that they are slow, it's that they run towards noise rather than away from it. It's really easy to catch one, just make a lot of noise and they will come right to you. Glad you are having a great trip! Love you, Linda -- In , " " . wrote: > > We are on the border of New Mexico in Tucumcari- we made excellent time today - hard to believe we are here.
