Guest guest
Kundalini can come with a traumatic accident to the lower spinal areas. It can come from severe emotional distress. From Shaktipat and from spiritual devotion. There are many vectors for the experience to express if there is that predilection for it in the person. Typically one will know a change has occurred. Kundalini by itself can have symptoms that are indicative of mental illnesses even though it isnt an illness. So one cannot blame the Docs for their response as it is all that they know to do and in some cases this will literally save the life of the person as Kundalini in its " Syndrome " state can be very damaging and lethal. If drugs are used to " combat the awakening " often the chemical cage will twist and warp an activation into something that would qualify as a positive indicator for schizophrenic or Bi-Polar or any of a number of catch all diagnosis that are used when encountering unknown or uncommon symptoms and phenomena. The person is basically declared nuts whether they are or not. Think about it: " Oh doctor I dream about snakes and feel as if there is a snake writhing inside my spine and street lights blow out when I walk under them and Christ visited me saying I should be more forgiving. Sometimes I feel as if there is a hole between my eyebrows and sometimes a snake is there too! Often I feel like I'm wearing a helmet. I see ghosts or people that walk through the walls. I see faces when I close my eyes. I hear a constant HUM and my body twists into these yoga like positions at night when I'm asleep and often during the day. Sometimes I know what people are thinking and sometimes I have an orgasm every twenty feet when I'm out shopping. Oh doctor whats WRONG with me!? " Your standard chem. doc is going to reach straight for the SSRI's and heavy tranquilizers as they prepare the straight jacket. All those symptoms are also Kundalini symptoms. They may be reflective of a true mental illness as well but so are they of the Kundalini and this is currently not taken into consideration. And everything medically possible(if the patient has good insurance) will be done to shut her experience down to the point where the person will deny it and continue in a chemical hell for a time until (hopefully) the activation not having been allowed to mature into an awakening recedes. And yet some folks have it and mature with it and go into their lives in a position of an awakened person. They open to it and keep it a personal experience often telling no one. I did this. I knew what would be in store for me if I went the med. route. So I just tried to make the best of it and as it turned out - it made the best of me! So yes some folks have Kundalini and do not know what it is and just try to incorporate it into their lives. But it is a profound experience and the person does know SOMETHING profound has occurred. - My uneducated non medical opinion. - chrism
