Guest guest
Yesterday we drove to Los Alamos and visited the museum that the NATIONAL lab operates that shows all that was involved with the formation of the atom bomb- for 15 years this area was " a secret city " that housed some of the brightest minds from all over the world- the average age was about 28 - this was a vibrant, energetic, intelligent and work oriented group - no unemployment here everyone worked - there was a goal to meet and they met it - We then continued on to Albuquerque to be near the Airport - Xach left today early ...he arrives in Durham late actually right about now and he then will drive home. I will be thinking of him and praying for a safe and uneventful trip as we had to date. Today I felt sad - having my travel companion leave left me feeling alone - Zach is a wonderful fella - very conscious of living a mindful life - it was so good to see one who strives to live the safeties and who has come so far on his own. Now the reality sets in that I am here and will have to settle some and get to work. I was proud of myself I stopped by the chamber of commerce and got lots of info - being this is a small town it is important to meet people and let them know what I need. It helps that my cousins know many many folks - name dropping is helpful. Met a lady today who said that LA is an open minded place - that I feel and I like it - The area has a unique feel - it is small about 14,000 then in the summer 8000 students comw to work in the lab as interns - I am so grateful I have a good car for there is so much driving - everyone goes to Santa FE for most everything - it is about 35 miles away - I see gas money will be a biggy here - good thing I get 40/mpg- WEnt to a training for the summer job tonight and I am the oldest staff person - by about 40 years - will be an interesting summer - being older I feel I have an advantage - I will have many opportunities for tolerance - and to keep my mouth shut - I want to lay low and blend in - that is a big challenge for me - 9 weeks give me strength please to be tolerant, patient, forgiving, trusting, honest, compassionate, and all the other traits needed to serve others. This will be my last post on the NM trip - you have been a wonderful audience - and I am happy some of you enjoyed our little jaunt. I am giving myself a day or two to get organized and unpacked while meeting and planning my summer program. The senior centers are very active and I will check them out - May you all have a great summer and enjoy your surroundings as I most certainly will... Blessings... Guest guest
I got some rest on the flight and enjoyed watching my mind-thing react to the scenario of flight. It took three planes to get me to me car. Some of the time I was groundied in the air and other times I was flying while flying..It is good to be back home. I look forward to sharing my adventure and all that I've learned with my family. , thank you for being a great traveling companion. It was almost as if I never really left home. I was so relaxed. It was great to talk about kundalini with you and learn from your experiences. You have broadened my horizons and deepened my perceptions of the world. Thank you for helping me venture out into the world and to not be afraid. On this trip I learned for myself about love and what it is on this world. I met people who let you stay in their homes for free, as if to consciously support your spiritual journey. They graciously give their space to you for free. They recieve a blessing for making good use of the earth. There's a whole world out there to travel and meet and support and love.KBordinarysparrow <ordinarysparrow Sent: Friday, May 15, 2009 1:18:40 PM Re: Road Trip - Zach goes home...
