Guest guest
Hi everyone, Here is something I having been investigating lately. Just would like to find out what you all think, if you think anything of it. When I would start my yoga, I would try to concentrate on the breath always, without using my ego. This means that I would just bring attention to my breath without loudly telling myself " BRING ATTENTION TO THE BREATH " . On somedays I woulddo very well and keep my concentration for a long time, but most days the ego would just start to talk and talk and i would have to keep going back to the sensation of the breath over and over again. I was trying to completely ignore the ego. More recently I tried something else. During the starting part of my yoga session I would command myself, using my ego, loudly (loudly in my head, not out loud) that " I MUST KEEP ATTENTION TO THE BREATH " . This would be done a couple of timesduring the beggining session of my yoga, and afterwards, is when I completely detach myself from the ego and are keep my concentration on the breath. The couple of times I did this, during the beggining part of my yoga I could go into really deep concentration faster then withoutusing the commands for my ego. So maybe I have to adjust my approach a little and use the ego, because it is a tool that you can send " commands " to amplify your intent, as long as you get attached to the intent and not the command. A simple test: 1) Concentrate on the tip of your nose without commanding your ego to do it. 2) Concentrate on the tip of your node and tell yourself " ALL I FEEL IS THE TIP OF MY NOSE " . Using option 2 you should be able to " feel/sense " the tip of your nose more. Any opinions/suggestions? What works for you to start to go into deep concentration on the breath?Much love, Mike
Guest guest
Speak and ye shall be heard! Ignoring the ego can be challenging as it is so involved in our daily affairs. This method feels good to me Mike and so does the spoken command! I am appreciative of how you search and discover that which works best for you! - A good lesson for everyone! - blessings Mike. - chrism , JiNN <jinnproduction wrote: > > Hi everyone, > Here is something I having been investigating lately. Guest guest
warm greeting Mike. . . just wanted to say i had the same question as Elektra concerning the mind. . .as i read, would call what you did; " the right use of mind " . . .the use of the mind to hold focus and to state intent i do not see as in the egoic realm?. . .one's use the mind to hold to the laws and safe passage in driving a car, and the use of mind to focus your yoga practice, seems very similar to me??? sometimes one's experience does not get conveyed in email post, i have read on 7%, so perhaps you where expressing an emotional tone with it that seemed like it was from the egoic realm for you??? love and light ordinary sparrow , Elektra Fire <elektra.fire wrote: > > I don't understand why you see talkin as ego? > I dont see it that way myself. > > Interesting perspective. > Love elektra x x x >
