A question for or body builders -for my hubby

My husband had his very first sweep 2 days ago and is finally listening to me

about the safeties because any doubt he had has been washed away **grin**

SO my question is about him and the 5 Tibetans. I do them everyday and I showed

him, but the one where you lean back in a parallel position (you know what I

mean) is hard for him because he is a body builder. His muscles wont let him. He

can't stop working out because his job is very dangerous and he works with

criminals every day.

He does all the others. Is there something comparable to the position or should

he just give up on that one. Or are there any bodybuilders on this list with

advice about working it in? He has bulk muscle and not lean because he needs a

lot of punch for life or death situations. He is also going to be practicing

Krav Maga for his job (Israeli martial arts) and this will be in the near

future. He is dead set telling me there is no way.

Thanks for all of your sound advice!

Thats really awesome that your husband has had the sweep, WOW. Great just great.

I feel excited to think of a kundalini couple.

I take it you are reffering to the 5th tibetan excercise, the cobra bend?

For the back bends, he should just try to push back as far as he can go, it

makes no difference if he cannot bend as far as another person.

Body builders need to learn flexibility within their muscles.

My advice is to just use the head to look back as far as he can. Having a

flexibile spine is soooooo important in life.

It would be number 4. I'm sorry if I didn't articulate it correctly. I meant to

ask if there were perhaps some stretches he could do. He looks pretty funny when

he tries to do it =p His neck or upper arms cant go back really in the position

so I'm guessing its primarily in the shoulder area pec area. Perhaps a yoga move

or something you can suggest.

Thanks!

Sorry!

He should be able to do this. Perhaps I will put a video up for these positions.

They are designed for geriatrics and so should be available to anyone with or

without heavy bulk muscular development. - blessings Tiffany and Husband! -

Never mind =)

I will just look up some stretching exercises for that part of the body. He just

needs to work on the flexibility for that particular move. I know how to do the

5 Tibetans so no need to do that... I'll use my good ole friend Google and

search for some stretches and see what I can find.

No worries about it. Thanks!

Stretching and flexibility are not the point Tiffany. These are not mere

stretches. These are energetic expressions of " rites. " Insertion of other

stretches not part of these " rites " can throw him out of balance energetically

speaking. So if he is having problems in that area please have him do no more

than the first three Tibetans.

Please do not insert other stretches into the mix. I know that the woman on the

website does this but I do not recommend it unless a person merely wants some

easy exercises to do. - blessings Tiffany - chrism

Namaste

Tiffany i was thinking the same thing about flexibility and that being

an asset for you husband. .in the city where i am from for a number of

years the head coach of the professional football team brought in ballet

and dance for his players each spring training for the benefit of

flexibility. . .

is doing other kinds of stretches at other times of the day to be avoided as

well? I work a lot with pedals (I spin, sew, weave) and accumlulate a lot of

tension in the feet and legs. the last tibetan works a bit as the other

stretches I like to do, but not completely.

thank you!

Hi Tiffany,

Just yesteday I was catching up on reading e-mails sent in May and read this

articles from FinerMinds about stretching exercise for flexibility may is not

good for the muscles. You may want to check what the article say about it.

http://daily.finerminds.com/mind/3-myths-that-are-hurting-you/

It impressed me, I am not as fexible as I use to be and I have problems with

#4Tibetan still. I think it is the one that causes my neck and shoulder pain. I

wrote down the title of her book (Move Into Life-Anat Baniel) and plan to look

for it the next time I am at the bookstore.

I used to do a great deal of weight training a year or two ago, and I know how

stiff and inflexible the body can get if you train a lot. But generally this is

due to not stretching properly after a work out.

Friend of mine who is pretty huge on the muscular scale cant walk properly now

because his hamstrings and calves have tightened so much he cant put his feet

flat onto the floor. He's regretting not stretching big time.

Andyone bodybuilding can be as flexible as the next person, unfortunately it

means an extra 15 minutes at the end doing some yoga type stretching. Very much

worth it and needed though.
