Guest guest
Dear Ordinary Sparrow... So beautiful are the words that you eloquently write for all of us to hear...I've so enjoyed these words and the wisdom that you so gracefully give to all... I'm however wondering what " Raag " is? Is that the sweet nectar that runs through your body? Thank you and btw everyone loves a sparrow!!! Much love to you!!! Guest guest
Namste dear Deb Thanks for the kind words spoken from you heart and the vitality you bring to us. . . when i have read the word raag in this poem, thought it was referring to the sweet bliss like music playing through the body that comes with the kundalini. . .but decided to do a quick word search and see the word may have more depth and layers than just bliss. . .with expression of divine moods which may be various and diverse. . .I thought Naam was refering to nectar, which in my expereince has to do with a liquid substance within the spiritual physical body that can rise to the crown or be tasted at times in the throat, or can also be evident in the epression of sacred s & xuality. . . for the word raag. . ..sanskrit. . . . http://www.swarganga.org/articles/icmconcepts/icm6.php <http://www.swarganga.org/articles/icmconcepts/icm6.php> here is a link, but Julie or Dan may be able to add greater clarity of what it means within the Sikh religion??? often times the Sikh's will be both Sanskrit and Gurabani and they often carry similar meanings, or so it seems to me. . . peace and love sparrow , " flowerpowers7777 " <flowerpowers7777 wrote: > > Dear Ordinary Sparrow... > > So beautiful are the words that you eloquently write for all of us to hear...I've so enjoyed these words and the wisdom that you so gracefully give to all... > > I'm however wondering what " Raag " is? Guest guest
Namaste, Being from an Indian background maybe I can explain better. A Raag is a melody composed of the basic musical notes. In India these are Sa, Re, Ga, Ma, Pa, Da, Ni Sa. A combination of these creates a Raag. The power of Ragas is such that Emperor Akhbar's musician Tansen could create rain by singing Ragas. Such is the power of the vibrations. Ragas can be subtle yet powerful in how they move you. The Kundalini reacts to music in ways a normal person can probably not easily relate to, so what you thought was absolutely correct. Naam is just " Name " . So the context in this case is for the sweet name of God. " Let the soul be the alms bowl in which you collect the sweet Naam, and this will be the only support that you will ever need.
