Guest guest
All: I had a break through this morning-or maybe it was last night. I have a nutty Lab dog who is " wired incorrectly " . She had a stroke when just a wee pup, and experiences the world in a unique way. We say she sees ghosts because she sees things that the other dogs or we humans do not notice beyond the typical senses. She is high strung, anxious, and the biggest trouble maker in the universe. If you know of the book " Marley and Me " , she is this tenfold. Her circumstance is neurological and not necessarily the result of the inconsistencies of the humans around her. Though I'm sure we are contributors. The joke is that some day she will save my life and that she has been placed here to teach me about myself- just because she gets so under my skin. My other dogs are Zen dogs, peaceful, cool, calm and collected. Needless the Lab and myself have had a challenging relationship over these past 8 years. For these two weeks I get the house to myself, and that means three dogs and a dog and kitty house guest as well. This morning I put in the aquarium DVD-very colourful btw, and popped in the relaxation yoga CD. To my amazement the Lab was the first to spread out on the carpet…within minutes all four were snoozing and in zzzzz land. So this is what a truly peaceful house feels like! The music included a lot of repetition in sounds, the chiming of bells etc. When the music CD ended, the Lab jumped up, ran over to the makeshift aquarium and bobbed it with her nose, ran outside and did a circuit, barked at the " invisible " and was back to her nutty self. I just mentioned last night to Elektra and the group that music is my heartbeat…and dogs/animals are one of the loves that fills those beats. It only took 8 years to discover the impact of the two together. LOL. The reason " why " I'm sharing all this is because late last evening I ended up at the ER veterinary clinic with my other dog Willow. Something had stung him or caused an allergic reaction, his face became a big swollen pink balloon. I too ended up in the Urgent Care due to a reaction to the bandage that was stuck across my face (good info to know). At one point while attending to Willow, dabbing his face with ointment and such and doing the very same for myself, I looked at him, one puffy, red face to another, and all I could do was laugh. I chuckled so hard that my belly hurt. I was filled with so much joy...what an amazing raw, pure, complete joy! I have never experienced anything like that. This life that we are blessed with, really is an amazing thing! -Danielle

Guest guest
Dear Danielle the Pixie girl, I felt your joy pour fourth through your words. What a gift our furry friends are and they definitely mirror things about our own personalities. Your home sounds nice and filled with love from all your doggies and visitors. I have a pet rabbit staying with me right now, he's very tricky and likes to nibble everything, including wires! Yikes! I have to keep a good eye on him, but funnily enough , he turned up at a moment when I was being guided in to a vegetarian raw foods diet, an inner voice said to me , watch what the rabbit likes to eat and copy! So I did, he loves cucumber and celery and carrots, and wood, but I'm not eating that... LOL Love, hugs and wet doggy noses elektra x x x
