Guest guest
Good morning All, I'm reading a new book by Barbara Bradley Hagerty, religion correspondent for National Public Radio, called Fingerprints of God: The Search for the Science of Spirituality. I like that she is breaking the mold of traditional journalism (and the myth of impersonal objectivity!) by interweaving her own story and personal motivations for her search. She interviews people who have had spiritual awakenings and the revolutionary scientists who are studying them, many of whom have had life-altering spiritual experiences of their own. I'm less than halfway thru the book, but every personal account I've read so far sounds like a classic Kundalini awakening experience. I wanted to share this excerpt from the second chapter, titled, " The God Who Breaks and Enters " . I think many of us, esp KarmaBurn, can relate to this: <<The Cost of Transformation These spiritual experiences, it seems to me, have the air of high-priced interior decorators on reality television shows: the arrive (unbidden), and immediately begin punching through walls and removing counter-tops. They haul away most of the furniture, including your favorite leather chair, and what they deign to leave, they put in the basement. These experiences don't ask, they simply move in, insisting you'll love it when they're done, and then with a brisk clap of the hands, they're gone, leaving you stunned, panting, and utterly transformed.>> Peace, Shaz
Guest guest
perfect - thank you for sharing this. Kundalini is just a term. Before, I liked the term 'spiritual emergence'. Kundalini had a weirdo sound to it. 2009/7/23 shaktiaz <shaktiaz > > > > Good morning All, > > I'm reading a new book by Barbara Bradley Hagerty, religion > correspondent for National Public Radio, called Fingerprints of God: The > Search for the Science of Spirituality. > > I like that she is breaking the mold of traditional journalism (and the > myth of impersonal objectivity!) by interweaving her own story and > personal motivations for her search.
