Guest guest
At last I have found what my problem is! Why I dont fit in the guru club. No I havent tried that hard I admit. But I have wandered in darkness about this for sooo long. Was it my deoderant? Halitosis? Bad style choices? What could it be? I would wonder about this as I walked the teaching path. Then it has just come to me! I am not a proper Guru. I know surprise surprise. You all knew though didnt you. And just didnt say anything. Kind of like having the " barn door " open and not saying anything. hmmmmmm. Well its true. There is nothing proper about me. I have no lineage. Sometimes I eat meat. Sometimes I eat with my left hand(Yikes!) I cant suck string or water " up " my butt. I can breathe there though ha!-lol! I do not follow any of the ancient traditions though I honor them in my own wild way. Thats it. I am a Wild Guru. Organic and free range! One from the mountains and one for unclean masses. But.....showers are good too! - lol - God save us! - chrism P.S. Be advised of this now when we come to the Shaktipat.

Guest guest
I like the word unique(none other like you), that's how I see our wild guru. Yeah! Now the word proper, to me that brings to mind one who is stiff and unyeilding and adheres to dogma only. Thanks be to God, we don't have a proper guru. Love, Linda P.S. Guest guest
Being naked for some time is different from being naked for lifetime. There are some sects like Digambar or Naga Sadhus who live naked throughout their life.If they get food they eat or remain hungry. They move in chilling cold. They do no sadhana. They need no Guru. They face such hardships for minimum 12 years. Jesus has said You cant serve me and the mammon at the same time............ \ shrikant --- On Mon, 10/8/09, Elektra Fire <elektra.fire wrote: Elektra Fire <elektra.fire Re: Wild Guru Monday, 10 August, 2009, 3:16 PM Well, I have to admit, I am not a proper student, I used to party too much, I like to go disco dancing , I don't take authority very well , and I don't like too many rules, I like to pray to who I like when I like. Guest guest
Pranams chrism.... I just felt i must share my feelings about you as our guru.... looking at an low level picture of a guru we can say one who is having a lineage..one who has strict rules to follow...one who has renounced and takes up the saffron robes and shaves the head...one who has a school of teaching of his with disciples and one who has strict rules for the students he selects. these rules and check lists is what we can look from a guru when we limit the guru to the physical world and the rules and appearances of the physical world. If we look at the more subtle and the deeper aspect of a guru, we must first start with the basic definition of the world guru. A guru is the one who leads the disciple from darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. A guru is one who makes the path way for the disciple to reach the god. A guru is one who will have a commitment and dedication for the student, his leaning and his excelling, his realization of god. As long as we are stuck to they physical realm we tend to fit in a guru with his looks, rules and lineage. But if our goal is to reach the oneness with god, to learn the true knowledge, the lifestyle and appearance of a guru will never be a choice of thought. Lord dattatreya is said to be the prime guru....how does he live..how does he dress, how does he talk.... live with dogs around, wear robes....stroll in the mountains like a mad man.. Your commitment to help us and lead us....ur choice of choosing us and blessing us....your act of compassion and guidance to us would mean a lot lot more than to think if you fit in the guru frame as the world are seeing in many of them. My thanks and pranams to you for blessing us all..... Regards Prasad
Guest guest
Namaste, Guru? Who is a Guru here? I would guess that very few people here even have Yagnopaveet Sanskar. (Any Brahmans by lineage or baptism please raise their hands. LOL) The word Guru is being used much too often... with too much importance.... and often with the wrong or inappropriate context. IMHO. Guest guest
jai gurudev dear nagendraji and chrismji, i wud like to add some humble words here : lord dutt first guru is lord mahadurda adinath shiv, and after gaining divine knowledge he made 24 gurus. yes anyone who gives knowledge is guru it maybe anyone. but kundalini yog is an energy work, and so still one needs to exercise caution and shaktipat is to be done properly so as that the giver and taker of shaktipat r not harmed. in this knowledge of the energy work is important and thus the knowledge of guru and his gotra-lineage etc if can be obtained will be beneficial. mother kundalini is not a mystery and some people claim falsely but is for all to awaken and partake of her divine bliss forever. so just 1 request pls be cautious. finally its the decision of the person interested to awaken mother kundalini. so pls be careful when giving or receiving shaktipat and surely mother kundalini will bless us all. om shakti gopal On 8/10/09, prasad_silverlining <nagendra.prasad wrote: > > > > Pranams chrism.... > > I just felt i must share my feelings about you as our guru.... > > looking at an low level picture of a guru we can say one who is having a > lineage..one who has strict rules to follow...one who has renounced and > takes up the saffron robes and shaves the head...one who has a school of > teaching of his with disciples and one who has strict rules for the students > he selects. > these rules and check lists is what we can look from a guru when we limit > the guru to the physical world and the rules and appearances of the physical > world. > > If we look at the more subtle and the deeper aspect of a guru, we must > first start with the basic definition of the world guru. > A guru is the one who leads the disciple from darkness of ignorance to the > light of knowledge. > A guru is one who makes the path way for the disciple to reach the god. > A guru is one who will have a commitment and dedication for the student, > his leaning and his excelling, his realization of god. > > As long as we are stuck to they physical realm we tend to fit in a guru > with his looks, rules and lineage. > But if our goal is to reach the oneness with god, to learn the true > knowledge, the lifestyle and appearance of a guru will never be a choice of > thought. > > Lord dattatreya is said to be the prime guru....how does he live..how does > he dress, how does he talk.... > live with dogs around, wear robes....stroll in the mountains like a mad > man.. > > Your commitment to help us and lead us....ur choice of choosing us and > blessing us....your act of compassion and guidance to us would mean a lot > lot more than to think if you fit in the guru frame as the world are seeing > in many of them. > > My thanks and pranams to you for blessing us all..... > > Regards > Prasad > > >
Guest guest
Those who proclaim themselves as a Guru are frauds. It has become a business now to mint easy money.I pity those who fall in to such traps.....................shrikant
Guest guest
There are some famous Gurus today quite entwined in scandal. It is my thought that the power involved breaks down many of the human and spiritual morals they started off with. It's just human nature. I for one never want to be so tested. (Run away...run away now...lol) There is also the " GURU HEADHUNTERS " who read every word the man/woman speaks, listen to each one spoken, and analyze each " miracle " for anything less than perfection and total honesty and make their results public. Every move the Guru makes is documented, they are after all in the public eye. I have heard of, but never met, several Gurus that had to " suddenly leave town " in the middle of the night for transgressions brought to the public eye. However, I know of many more Gurus that did good, who were kind, and successsfully worked for the general good of mankind despite the temptations of their profession. It's a noble one but not for me! Scary scary scary. I could not imagine the pressure.
Guest guest
30 years ago when I thought that my 2 week old daughter was sick I went to a healer. My mind exaggerates my first meeting with him as he came down the stairs at 2:30 in the morning. I say that he came down in holly under ware and smoking a cigar. Somehow, after knowing him for a time, I throw in that he was eating a ham sandwich at the time of his decent of the stairs. My little girl stopped crying the minute that he touched her. The family was finally at home. He gave me a book and said that instead of saying what I rebelled against, God, to say " Universal Energy. " My life and the life of the family quickly changed. Among other things, I got a legal job in just a few weeks. In fact it was where my guru worked as a younger man. The point is that I could not have taken God from another guru. Slick dress or a balcony on the Ganges was not what enabled me to accept the Lord. I believe the heart of is grounded in the same earthiness and dedication as was that of the person that brought God to my heart and to my family.. The K family is indicative of this feeling. Sincerely, Jake

Guest guest
I am having trouble releasing my ego in that I want to make egoic response to those I disagree with. The ego tricks me into thinking that my response is a creative endeavor and must manifest. I believe that the people that I am responding to will only keep the battle of the egos going. My response is from who I am. I have always been on the side of the underdog. I know that the cycle that grabs me must be done away with if I am to progress or even survive without taking contrary opinions to heart. When I see a suffering world I respond with my opinion and what I believe is a good argument about how things got that way. Responding to people that already have their own agenda is what I am playing into. In reality they don't want to hear my observations from living in countries with better health care and how it works. I almost ask the question of should I not respond? What happens with the next messages sent? I know how that would affect me now before the change. I want to send them pictures of myself at a rally in the late " 60 " and say that I am worse now. My knee length beard and accompanying hair certainly give away my persuasions in this picture. Other opinions plague me only when they come from this group.Really wanting to change but the electricity won't let me,Jake
