Guest guest
I thought I'd share an experience I had the other day. It goes along the lines of what suggests, i.e. not reading or seeing anything that isn't based around love. Well, I was watching the TV, a film about football violence. There was nothing on and the tv remote was far too far away to change channels so I just carried on watching it. Not really my thing but I carried on watching it absent mindedly. It was pretty graphic and violent. Afterwards, I felt scared, lonely and pretty panicked. Which isn't me at all. I started getting worked up about society, the state of peoples minds, why people are violent and so on. What if I was like that? It got so bad I ended up having to phone my mum of all people so I wasn't on my own. It was like serious depression had set in. A few years ago I wouldn't have thought twice about it and probably laughed about it with friends. It just goes to show how much things like that can effect your mind. Its like pollution. Being more aware of myself and more in touch with my own emotions really made it hit home. It does make you wonder what effect it has on people over a long period of time. Society must be part of a losing battle to improve. Anyway, just an experience. Something I'll be avoiding like the plague in future. And to end on a happy note (because that was a rather depressing post), here's a phrase I found recently that seemed to make a lot of sense; " The wonders of our planet, of our being and of our universe will be discovered the same day that we decide that our society hides from us our own happiness and when we fight to take out of the way what's plastic, the distraction of our true essence... " Love to all Andy

Guest guest
Hi Andy, How are you? I have similar experiences after watching horror movies. I used (before my spiritual journey) to love horror movies and would watch them without any noticeable effect on my mental state. But after I started arousing K it was a different story. Whenever I would watch a horror movie, first of all i would be more scared than usual, and second, at the end I would feel like the whole world is getting swept from under my feet (in a bad kinda way ). I wouldnt be scared of Freddy or Jason coming out the closet or anything like that but I would be in a very depressed state about things that normally in my life I wouldnt dwell upon too long.
