Guest guest
Recently asked us to share stories of service so I thought I'd share a lovely success story with you. When I lived in Thailand I had a resort and would take in all kinds of waifs and strays (me having been one in the past!) At one point we had mainly women living with us (me and hubby) most did not have any money and we supported them financially (we still had money in those days!) One girl came to stay with us, elise, she had been a homeless child at age 12 running away from foster care, her own Father was abusive and victorian, believing girls to be less then boys, treating the Mum and elise like servants, elise was not allowed to go to school and was beaten regularly. She ran away and was hanging out with drug addicts, she even tried H3roin at 12 years old! but luckily she never became an addict. She had never known unconditional love and support, so we gave it to her, a place to stay, we looked after her dog, gave her money to start a fashion business (which went wrong), but we never gave up on her. After I left Thailand to come to China I returned to Thailand and bumped in to elise, she was finally ready to turn her life around and wanted to leave thailand, where she lived practically penniless and homeless without us around. I bought her a ticket and visa and gave her a job and a place to stay with me so she could finish healing her past. Since I first met her, and with all our support at the community, she began talking to her family again , healing her body, her periods started again, she forgave her Father and the list goes on and on. From china, I encouraged her to go back to the UK, I bought her a ticket from my own money (she never seemed to have any money!) and she left having detoxed and done a lot of healing. She is now a totally different girl, she is finishing her degree in the UK (remember she wasnt allowed to go to school as a child) and is training to be a stiener school teacher. She has been looking after her Mum and Dad (the Father had a stroke) and forgiven so much, she is a real rags to riches poster child of turning a life around. I feel like she's my own sister/daughter, I know if it wasn't for the help I gave her and more importantly the love, none of this would have been possible. That's one of my really great service to others success story. Charity doesnt need to be organised or registered, it can be done one on one randomly if you get the opportunity. I am so proud to see my baby spread her wings and fly fly fly. I changed the world for the better and I know it. Nothing feels better then that.. Guest guest
Wonderful how just stepping in and being loving pays off- when I have I share - it is a natural way for me - one way I share now is adopting a soldier from Soldiers Angels (mentioned this before) I write to a soldier each week and then send a package each month. I had to stop for a time did not have the $ for a package but now that I am working I just adopted a new fella. And there are K-9 units and I hope to adopt one of those so I can send to the soldier and the dog And there is a ROTC program at school and they send packages to the soldiers and I will be part of that- it just makes me feel as if I am doing something. It does not take much - there is normally no response but that makes it even more kind - to write with no expectations and never hearing from the other end. I have been fortunate that one of the first soldiers I wrote to keeps in touch - we have become good friends and it is very nice to continue what started as a service - we support each other in our trials and life events. Yes E service can come in many ways - I find myself greeting folks as I walk down the street - they always seem so surprised - it makes us both feel good - and at school I am pleasantly surprised the students are very polite and they remind me to use my P's and Q's - the thank yous and your welcomes abound - it sends a message to all who hear - and by using just two little words there is a culture that is established and it is all good.... love to all who offer of themselves to serve others. e
Guest guest
Thanks Elektra for your beautiful story of service. Not exactly as specific an example as yours of how your actions impacted one person. For me in my work, I get an opportunity to help others. Two ways I like to think I give service is in my work with terminally ill patients and their families. When possible, I like to help people have a good death experience. There was one family in particular that were all at odds with each other as their mother was on her death bed. After working with her I began having family sessions to help them come to terms with her death. It was a beautiful passing for her as they all were able to come together & say their peace and be of loving support to each other. Also, I work with eating/body image issues with teenage girls. I love helping teenagers value the inside of themselves. I periodically get revisited by the teens I've worked with now as young women & love seeing their vibrancy. I had coffee with one I worked with for years that was severely anorexic. She was joining the peace corps & going to Africa. love and blessings, Jan

Guest guest
, What a wonderful gift for those soldiers to receive your letter and love. I know that truly makes a difference in their lives; being away from home I'm sure they are so lonely. Would you mind posting the site or sending it to me privately, sounds like a loving thing to do. Also , I really loved reading about how things are going at the school. They are so lucky to have you as we all are here. Keep us posted and hope you are not so sore. Much love to you and all those kids - especially the naughty ones! ha Deb (: , " " . wrote: >
Guest guest
oh Elektra, what a wonderful story and how lovely to think of her opening and flowing forwards.. My best success story was when I went into the 'web' and remotely healed a friend of mine who was dying following an explosion at her flat - we were emailed to say 'prepare for her funeral, there is very little hope' - I dived in determined that either I'd help her over the line or sort her out and bring her back, and she went home two days later!! some very surprised doctors it was amazing and it happened at my darkest time so it was like a candle of contentment in a dark room and really healing for me too, as healing always is ) Amanda , Elektra Fire <elektra.fire wrote: > > Recently asked us to share stories of service so I thought I'd share a lovely success story with you. Guest guest
My Dear Kundalini Friend, I often read of you putting yourself down on this forum. Dont ever let me see you do that again!! You are an amazingly beautiful, kind and generous person. Your life has been of service in so many ways. I hope you and Elise keep in touch as what she does with her new life, will be a constant reminder to you of how your unselfish love influences others. Much love and admiration, Skydancer xx > Phew.............. speachless > mindblowing... > ahhhh... > ummm.... > om > > > WOW ! > > > > > > I am so proud to see my baby spread her wings and fly fly fly. Guest guest
You too, are a beautiful soul Jan. To be with people at the end of their worldly existence is an honour for you and the one passing on. I hope I have someone as kind with me when my time comes.
