Hi Carolyn,

Well I'm glad you posted on the KAS1 site that you are coming to California -

quick trip but none the less a nice opportunity to link visibly and to applaud

your family even if quietly on this trip. Claremont Schools rock!!!

We can post again on the KAS1 site closer to the date.

Hi Anna,

Thanks for writing. No, I have never been farther west than Colorado/Wyoming

(except for Seattle airport). ..... I can't linger in California..... I wasn't

even going to mention it until I saw your message about meeting people in the

area.

Dear Carolyn,

Let's stay in touch if you like ..., is this a road trip ? and have you already

travelled to this part of California in the past?

So many possibilities - I hope you'll save a little anticipation for meeting

KAS1 people.. It'll be an honor to get to meet you.

All the best as the weeks bring you closer and nearer to August 23!

love,

Anna

My eldest son has to be at his college in Claremont on August 23, so we will be

making the trip from the midwest to the LA area at that time. I'll probably be

staying in Walnut, 10 miles west of Claremont. Is there anyone near those two

cities?

Hi Ty!!

Talked to Carolyn a little while ago. She'd like to meet near Walnut [tan' tan'

tan]Are you from Corona or the Cal Poly area by any chance? or familiar

w/Temple/Amar Road? I'm arriving in Walnut by 9:30 am (actually more like

8:30am) then I'm going to call her. Want to meet us in Walnut? If she has time

I was going to suggest a Japanese/Hawaiin restaurant in West Covina or a place

not far for her.

I'm hungry for lunch already.

Well, we arrived back home last night at midnight. It was a long (3,800 miles)

and, thankfully, uneventful trip, driving-wise. The sights in the southwest

were new and very different from our monochromatic green.

It was a great pleasure to meet you, Anna. Thank you for the taste of Hawaii,

the mug and cards for Sam. They did add to his riding pleasure on the way home,

and now he thinks he's an expert on all things African! So sorry that I could

not meet you, Ty, but we did talk briefly on the phone and also to chrism.

Much to catch up on here again...

Carolyn
