Guest guest
Chrism (please to all that might want to comment) Was reading your post, which ignited an interest in exploring and receiving your thoughts. I have interpreted the ego as this part of me that at some young age (the short version) because of my inability to process and understand gave way to the birth of this part of me to step forward (ego), in a sense, to lend a hand, to help protect me. to become a guardian.  Over time, the strength of this hand became stronger, became more empowered than my own. It became in my young eyes a means to shield me from a world I was incapable of handling, of dealing, of honoring and exercising my emotional body in a manner that would protect me from an ever growing danger. There was a dearth of tools for me to build boundaries, build antennas, systems for me to help monitor those who entered my world.  As time passed, as I became more entrenched in the beliefs and behaviors taught to me, by parents, teachers, friends, priests ands the like. As I navigated through my world lacking in the nurturing, love and unmitigated support that propagated the reality of my ownership of being a divine being with all the talent and capability to be everything/anything was nonexistent, or in quantities so small their impact not enough to counterbalance its antithesis. As I waddled there in this pool of unknowing, my ego stepped in to advise me, " it's OK. I'll strip you of you decision making process or your consciousness so that you can go about you daily life with out worry, seemingly with out responsibility. And wasn't that appealing.  Responsibility, after all was a word packaged with so many attachments as to repel me. A word with a connotation attached to it that spoke to capitulating to the child in you. A word that conjures up this image of an enormous weight shackled to my body. A word that gagging from the behaviors and struggles of my parents and the other adults, suggested something I was not enticed or entreated by. A word that spoke to losing all the opportunity to be free. That could or would strip me of my innocence, of my exploratory desires because they were laden with too much responsibility. This ego, now has a stronghold, a fortified place within that goes unnoticed as i walk by as a young person, a teen.  It has taken away the voice of the little boy, sequestered the language of the rebellious teen. And after an exhaustive effort those voices are still within, waiting to be attended to. So we come to the concept of the Huna, the Hooponopono theory of the three selves. A concept which very much mirrors the Bradshaw's concept of these parts of ourselves trapped in adolescence , teenage hood or child. These parts of us needing to be listened and nurtured, to be embraced, then showered with love, granting them an assurance that the adult us is here to care for them, to give to their every need, to proclaim to them how spectacular, how beautiful each of them is.  Now this adult is invited to explore his ego, no, not to kill it, not to destroy it but to observe it methods and tactics, to become acutely aware how it navigates its way in my world, how it targets the lesser parts, the vulnerable of me, panders to them, allow its participation in this old dance now done with a new step. How it has me thinking, I now am making a choice. How, once again it asks to be the decision maker rather than to allow me to become more conscious. consciousness would of course eradicate its negative hold shift it back into the supportive role it was intended to be.  So, as I become the ever vigilant observer, notice how it (ego) can strip me of my power, how it will play this game to have me be more in an effort to buttress the belief that i am something more worthy, more significant, intelligent, whiter than another, something better, or it opposite, something far less. In the observation, I am afforded the opportunity to simply experience the intrinsic value of my being. To know there is a loving universe that is not separate from me, that all of me is imbued with a beauty, a love in every cell. I'm invited to experience the enormity, the divinity of all that entails.  But the ego is incredibly genius in morphing into new behaviors, shapes, colors, persona's, having us think that it’s voice has vanished. It has the talent of sneaking in through the back door while all the windows are locked and before we realize, it is here.  Only Now, as we sensate our bodies, are feelings, our intuition, our knowing, our awareness, ,we have a new choice that has always been here, obscured by our hunger and desire to be more. The petri dish from where we were birthed was rich in cultures teaming with beliefs we were never worthy, never deserving, never enough. In our incessant eagerness to change that, guided by our egos we found it nearly impossible to simply be. If we let go of who we think we are, this opportunity to glimpse who we are and are becoming comes into being. Is is not who we've been all along. Thank you for the read and thoughts Love Out.............................................................................\ .........LOUD burgeoningheart
Guest guest
Hello Tony, Just to be clear, " Ho'oponopono " is defined in the Hawaiian Dictionary[1] as " mental cleansing: family conferences in which relationships were set right through prayer, discussion, confession, repentance, and mutual restitution and forgiveness. " Literally, ho'o means " to, " pono is defined as " goodness, uprightness, morality, moral qualities, correct or proper procedure, excellence, well-being, prosperity, welfare, benefit, true condition or nature, duty; moral, fitting, proper, righteous, right, upright, just, virtuous, fair, beneficial, successful, in perfect order, accurate, correct, eased, relieved; should, ought, must, necessary, " and ponopono is defined as " to put to rights; to put in order or shape, correct, revise, adjust, amend, regulate, arrange, rectify, tidy up, make orderly or neat. " Huna is not representative of Hawaiian beliefs per any of the native Hawaiian peoples. It was taken and used from part of the word " Kahuna " by Max Freedom Long. There is some resentment about the organization of this aspect of their belief system or culture. So let us be clear Huna is only part of a larger picture of practice and beliefs brought into the present by a foreigner and the ancient Polynesian civilization of Hawaii and held within oral histories for thousands of years. Your reference to the ego within Ho'oponopono can benefit by taking into obvious consideration that dark side or the more challenging aspects of our natures which do present for all aspects of the human psychological and spiritual egotistic levels. Huna does take these levels apart as there are about ten bodies of light and dark to work with within a single individual. We are inside of duality and this will make its presence known and felt. Ego is part if the survival mechanism within a person. Not mere physical survival but survival in many of the human experiences. Survival in social groups, survival alone, survival in procreation, survival in the wilderness of life, and so forth. Within that matrix we have the choices of morality. Morality begins to assert its way inside of us and through us from request or demand of the culture we are raised in. We begin to " survive " within those moral codes. Which can give way to programming through education or through entertainments as is occurring now in our culture. Our challenging sides will have their say through out these processes. They give us the basis for making a " choice " among the many moral choices or amoral choices available. From those choices to we begin to shape our inner teachings. From there is our Karma being prepared. We make choices about how we will represent ourself(ves) and about what aspect of our nature is in control. We choose to capitulate to or to rise above certain lessons in life. And while we have life we are open to changing those expressions if we " choose. " There is no victim hood. There is no being taken advantage of or unfairly dominated by an aspect of ourselves, ego or otherwise. This can be understood as an aspect of our personal Karma and in this way are our options and feelings and choices attenuated. We are here to advance and to over come at the same time in our own way at our own speed. We can fall back into our own mistakes and that will merely suggest more attention is needed within those life experiences - " which will be given! " - lol! Soon enough our mental conscious moral self emerges and takes control in many ways away from the survival oriented and narcissistic ego self(ves). This is within a natural progression but it is unique to each person as we come here with unique traits and gifts however similar they may seem. For some this shift encourages a further shift into the higher spiritual areas. Not all have this shift but many do and many pursue it within the means and understandings within the culture they are in. Just a short take on this voluminous subject! - blessings to you Tony! - chrism , Tony Camacho <burgeoningheart wrote: Chrism > (please to all that might want to comment) > Was reading your post, which ignited an interest in exploring and receiving your thoughts. Guest guest
(Side Note: Gasp! Phew, I can breathe again. I feel like I've been holding my breath for the past 9 hours; like my head has been held under water! Thank you Chrism for noting this, for these words which have permitted movement and the pushing through of whatever this topic apparently signifies to me. I literally felt like I was drowing...your words of clarification are like an air pocket bringing me to surface. I don't really know what I'm saying, so I apologize for my jibber jabber Tony and everyone...but what a relief! Deep breath. How odd.) -Danielle , " " <> wrote: > > Hello Tony, > > Huna is not representative of Hawaiian beliefs per any of the native Hawaiian peoples.
