Guest guest
Hey, guys! I think my backyard is turning into a wildlife sanctuary! Getting much visitation here in the 'burbs, I'm truly amazed! We have a stray cat that has made our bushes home, a racoon mamma and 2 babies who come nightly, we are invaded with spiders (loads of them, mostly daddy long legs), ants, bees, wasps, a few butterflies, beetles, quail families, one roadrunner, once 2 coyotes and today...a baby snake was at the side of the pool (on the decking) about 12 inches long, thin as a pipe cleaner and had the marking os a tiger rattle snake but with no rattle. We admired it for a bit as it sat coiled up then it straightened out, tongue flicking looking left right left right. Cute, if baby snakes can be cute. I captured it in a glass with a cardboard under it for support and put it over the wall into the grassy yard of the empty house next door. I'm a little concerned for our cats. But, WOW, another snake here! I thanked it but asked it to move on. I thought that was a nice little synchronicity and I know how you all just LOVE snakes! LOL Sssssss! Love, Valarie
Guest guest
Valarie, there is no need to be concern for you cats. Cats are natural snake charmers. If anything you should be concern for the poor snake with the cats about. Hehe. Have you ever seen a cat put a snake into trance. Sometimes they will play with it, bat it around, throw it up into the air and pounce on it again and again. After it finishes mauding it to death, then it may or may not eat it. You are lucky to even see a snake around with your outside kitty. That is why farmers always keep plenty of barn cats, to keep the rats and snakes away from their chickens and animals. Guest guest
Its not the cats you need worry about, its the baby snake. I watched a cat totally kill and eat a baby cobra, it had no fear and was ruthless knowing exactly where to strike to render the snake helpless.love elektra x x x
Guest guest
Hi Valarie, Sounds like you live in the desert! I think you are the one Danielle told me about. I have a wildlife oasis back here as well, although the bees have been rampent in the valley this year. They did try to build a home in our roof tiles a couple months back. I caught a baby quail just before it dove into the pool this spring. I found a snake a couple weeks ago I posted about too. This morning I had the privledge of taking a shower with a baby lizard! Do share when you run into these creatures, they are one of the many signs of your awakening. I like to look up the animal totems and read their meanings as well.
