Guest guest
Chrism/All: I just received the " agreement confirmation " for the proposed community garden. The plot has been dedicated to a woman & children's shelter/resource center. We will start here and if deemed " successful " by those measuring " success " , we'll have a chance to expand into larger community gardens and/or additional shelters. I had been awaiting the decision, and now with this news, I wish to send a self addressed envelope to you (Chrism) for a couple of watermelon seeds please (if still avail). It's a small plot, roughly 10x12. But given the amount of herbs and such I pack into a tiny planter bed, to have this sized garden, to me, equates to a huge canvas. I'll be sure to send the group " baby pictures " of waddling watermelons later on down the road. Blessings, and thank you to all who helped manifest this. Guest guest
volunteer...sparked from a spontaneous canned food drive after having taken a food box to the family in the community (work-related) and then deciding to volunteer at that foodbank, and proposing that a community garden with fresh produce (self-sustainability) be incorporated. It's exciting...a healing garden...in more forms than I had thought about at the time. I appreciate the starting small, as I can really dig my hands into the dirt and be a part of preparation and planting...really working with the land and have that volunteering spill over into being with members of the shelter/center now too. Guest guest
That is SO wonderful, Danielle!! Where is this garden? If it's near me, maybe I could help out? Weather is going to cool off soon (I hope)! Starting to think about what I'm going to plant in my little patch. Nice, Danielle. Love, Valarie
Guest guest
That is such a cool thing you are doing, Danielle. I wish I had enough land to do something like that. What a fun thing to do. Chrism gave me a whole pkg of watermelon seed and I only need a few of them with my little bit of dirt. Send me your address and I will send them to you. They are nice organic ones. I hate the thought of them going to waste.
