Guest guest
Hi everyone, So I was thinking, maybe KAS-1 needs a permanent chatroom somewhere so we can chat/support/help each other in real time. If people are interested we can use IRC. There is a little learning curve to learn the couple of commands, but the client that I use (www.mIRC.com) is very clean simple and fast. Opinions/Suggestions? Mike

Guest guest
Mike is there a type of chat software that could be added to the main site? Perhaps then many of us could be online there together often. We could also then make special chat rooms at times for our online healing conferences and other meetings that may want at times. It would be very handy for real time emergencies too for new people to Kundalini. It can often take time to get in contact with Chrism, especially if you don't know him yet. If there was an emergency and other experienced members were available online almost at any time, it would be really helpful. be well, bradly
Guest guest
Here is a msg I sent to : Cool, so here is how IRC works basically. There is no voice chat, but everything else plus more is available. It is free. (The client is actually donationware I believe, so it will ask you that you should register, but you can keep using it without any limitations). Basically you pick a server to use (There are 100s, they are all free) and connect to it. When you connect to a server you can create as many chatrooms are you want. Each chatroom can be public, meaning that anyone on that server can enter, or private, where people have to specify a password to enter. You can also set max number of users for the chatroom, etc etc. Each chatroom has a moderator, which is a person that can change chatroom title, kick people off, assign others to be moderators. The only thing I have to research is how to register the moderators to the chatroom. Basically the way IRC works, is that when you create a chatroom, if noone else registered that chatroom name you automatically become the moderator (basically owner of that chatroom). So if we create the chatrooms and then all everyone leaves the chatroom, who ever enters first will be the new moderator. This is unless we register the channel name with a user. The registration is free, and I used to be able to do it, but forgot how to do it, so I will read up on it. So we can have a setup like this: (All chatroom names start with " # " ) #KAS1_General - Public for everyone. #KAS1_Healing - Only for the healing group. Have to enter using password. The client for the IRC that I use is www.mirc.com. Its a windows program. Here is a web client for the IRC. Try it and let me know what you think. Go to: http://www.mibbit.com/chat/ From the drop down list select EFNET (one of the biggest servers, means that usually its up and running smoothly), enter any nickname, and for channel (a.k.a chatroom) enter #cars. It should take you to the #cars chatroom, which someone has already created. From the right column click " Idlers " and it will show all the users who are on that channel. The ones with the start next to them are the moderators, the ones with the little speaker icon have a " voice " , this means they are not moderators but are some moderator helpers, or have been in the chatroom for a while. You can give these people with a " voice " some privileges which regular users dont have. To enter another chatroom type: /join #new_chatroom_name This web interface is a little limited, especially if you are a moderator. I cannot find where I can control the channel from. So I would suggest everyone use the windows client (mIRC), but this web interface can be used if you are in some hotel and cannot download things. Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.
