Guest guest
Hello All, Last night Patrick, my fiance, and I were walking back from feeding my horse and a black bear was standing on the top of the stairs that descend to our basement suite to. Standing on his hind legs sniffing the air, he was a beautiful sight. We stood there in silence for about five seconds. I was in reverence, and Patrick was in protective mode. Patrick hollered at him to leave and I woke up out of my trance. Then I joined in with the noise making and he turned to leave. About two hours later when I went to bed, my body started to twitch and jolt, K stuff. I think it was the part of me realizing how serious it was to have a black bear this close. But am I missing a message? Any thoughts out there? Thanks everyone.... Carla

Guest guest
Hi Carla, Native people of Turtle Island (aka North America) view the Bear as a powerful healer and as a brother or sister. Many people have legends about Bear as a literal Little Brother, so much alike we are. I can't remember if it was John Muir or Joseph Krutch or some other nature essayist who wrote about watching a bear lay on her back, holding a feather up to the sky and twirling it between the claws of her thumb and forefinger. A backcountry teacher of mine told the story of being run out of her tent by a bear intent on a bottle of peppermint schnapps they had been saving for the end of a very long backpacking trip. The bear unscrewed the cap, guzzled the booze and quickly passed out - sprawled across their tent! Sober Bear spirits often come to people to bring them healing abilities, and often help medicine people with doctoring. Bears know plant medicine, and will eat certain herbs to heal themselves, which is part of how they know to help us. My teacher's bear must have needed some cooling medicine - and a midsummer nap! Blessings on you and Patrick, and all who know you! Peace, Shaz

Guest guest
That was Don, Valarie. The bear had gone onto his deck and pooped. I've had a skunk to want to have it's home right at my front door. LOL! I use watering my flower bed there overnight to encourage her to go else where to have her babies. But I still smell the skunk somewhere close by even still after all these years. I hope it means she is just traveling through. We have an opossium family that continues to stay around after all these years, too. When we first moved here we were the last few houses in the neighborhood at the end of the street and there were open fields on two side of us and lots of animals right here in town. Guest guest
Thank you for sharing your thoughts Linda, Valerie, Shaz and Deb. Each brought big smiles to me. It is such a pleasure being able to share thoughts and events with like minded people. We certainly don't perceive our world with the same filters as most. I had a dream about bears last night... three bears were living with us. We were able to co-exist with two of them, but it was especially difficult to live with one of them. That bear of unpredictable and cankerous. We had to partition parts of the house off with metal fence panels, the portable fending that is used for horses. My landlady that lives upstairs just popped into my head. She is unbalanced and angry and seems to think she can come into our home when we are away. She is my trigger person and I am receiving the teachings slowly and reluctantly! We are moving at the end of the month thank goodness. And Monday's bear visit was a nice reprieve from her anger at not being able to control and manipulate us. Carla 2009/10/7 danceswithcats999 <crazycats711 > > > That was Don, Valarie.
