Ode to Toes

Dear Everyone:

-A little oddity to share-

I found myself bathing my feet; I mean bathing...feelings of dedication, a

ritual dedication, a purposeful careful bathing...a ritualistic dedication and

honoring to " my feet " ?; a most certain feeling of preparation and dedication. To

me this is odd. I have never done this before. I seldom wear socks, cannot stand

closed-toe shoes and walk bare-foot every chance I get. I love to wiggle them in

the lush grass and quish them into the mud; they love to explore and be free...

but yikes, please don't gaze upon them, and certainly never touch them; that

makes me embarrassed and self conscious about their appearance. But I think

today I will write an " Ode to Toes " because I cannot place it, but it was much

more than the act of washing my feet.

Thoughts?

Love to you.

Danielle

dear danielle,

I'll join you in this ode to toes :)

I can relate to your words, I too have a love of being barefoot, walking in

grass, squeezing in mud. new shoes are a trauma for me, I get all sorts of

blisters and akes, till my feel magnanimously decide to accept the new box I

insist on stiking them in!

with all these shoes, the use and importance toes can have is easily forgotten.

I once herd of a man here in my area that lives barefoot, winter though summer,

country or town, he goes everywhere barefoot. he even takes the train shoeless!

I love that.

I will join you this evening in a foot bathing, though miles an oceans separate

us.

love to you too,

lucia

In my christian mysticism group just this last week we had a discussion about

the foot washing ritual in the bible.

I like what this person had to say about:

@@@ Perhaps if people thought more about the symbology of the feet serving as

the foundation of movement of their being (way), the life path they have trodden

(life), and the truth they have come to understand and be (truth), they could

understand the humility of the foot washing as devotion to the Christ within

each being. Those who do, can not withold the tears of joy amixed with awe of a

love that can not be earned, just unconditionally given through grace.@@@

Love & blessings,

Linda

Hi Danielle... I loved your post... big smile on my face !

Earlier this year I went through a time where I loved my feet with

dedication...I took time to rub cream on my feet.... between every toe with

reverenceand love...Mmm, a forgotten memory...an ode to toes...I love it,

Namaste, Danielle

Your post made me laugh :) I can relate to wanting to let feet roam free. And in

the winters I like to jog barefoot in snow.

My little sister has that embarrasement of feet too, I have no idea where it

comes from. I think feet are cute. I love my feet and toes!

Love to you too!

If you re read what you just wrote I'm sure your will see the clear

message.....:-))

Perhaps the Mother wants you to reclaim the knowledge of the great beauty of

your feet, to see them for what they truly are in their wonder and splender.

Love your feet, however they look. Know that they are sacred and a gift so that

we may experience so much movement, nourishment and life.

Hugs and bare feet boogie
