Guest guest
Hi, Carolyn, I'm very interested in how you accomplished this! My daughter is now 7 and has had all that was required and I went along because I thought it was expected of us and IS if you want them to go to school. So how did you do it? I can't claim religious exemption. But how can I get by with it? I really don't want her to get the next round of MMRs. Thanks! Guest guest
Hi Valarie, In Iowa we have only the medical and religious exemptions to vaccination. But the certificate says, " A religious exemption may be granted to an applicant if immunization conflicts with a genuine and sincere religious belief. .... that the belief is in fact religious, and not based merely on philosophical, scientific, moral, personal, or medical opposition to immunizations. " At first I thought that I wouldn't be able to sign the religious exemption without it being a lie, but one doesn't need to be " church-going religious " to qualify, nor even belong to a particular church or faith. They aren't going to (and perhaps legally cannot) ask, " What church do you attend and how often? " My religious belief stems from the fact that I consider our human bodies to be housing our souls, and we should keep them as pure and free of pollution and toxins as possible. A great book to read is The Sanctity of Human Blood. But I didn't get to this place straight out: it was a process with a learning curve. My first two are fully vaccinated. With the third I started the shots at a later age and didn't get them all, and the last, none at all. I hope this helps. Guest guest
Thanks, Carolyn. Yeah, I'm worried about the lying thing, too. I'm not of the Christian Science religion or any other (I'm self-religious, spiritual but belonging to no organized religion) so didn't know how this could apply. I would very much like to stop having vaccines of any sort from now on, esp. my daughter. Thanks for your help and I will look into this and like you will have to come to terms with the wording of this. Guest guest
This whole vacination thing is such a worry as we never really know what is best to do. When I had my son in 74' I let him have all the inoculations the were suggested by my Doc., health Visitor and Midwife. I was only 19yrs and thought they knew better than me. Luckily he was okay and had no problems. My daughter was born in 1980 at a time when there was a scare over the Whooping cough vacine in the UK. I decided not to vacinate her against this. I was teaching full time and she went to a nursery everyday, but at that time they did not ask parents to inoculate in order to get a nursery place. When she was less than a year old she caught Whooping cough and that period of our lives was the most frightening. At times she could hardly breath and every time she coughed she would bring up blood. i tried using steam baths and other natural methods but she was finally taken into hospital. After that she had all the inoculations her brother had. Its so, so, hard to decide on whats best to do. Both my children have told me they will inoculate their children as required and suggested by their Doc. No question bout it. I am just glad I no longer have to make those decisions. I wish you all well and that your choices work out well for your children. Blessings, Iona x , Valarie Vousden <vjvousden wrote: > > Hi, Carolyn, I'm very interested in how you accomplished this! Guest guest
I don't know how it works in the USA but here in the UK it's possible to get them separately if you go private - according to research, less chance of complications coming from the three in one, but still the peace of mind from knowing your kids won't get measles. I've observed lots of instances of auto-immune disorders and they seem to be based on a deep self-hatred that is a family pattern. If you're fairly free-flowing in your family without history of these kind of disorders, your kids will probably be ok, so you can relax )) I'm relaxed about vaccines myself - I went through a big anti-MMR thing because I saw a friend's nephew go blind after it, but now I think I was going along with a fear-based thought - once again - and that really the best thing is not to get too worked up about these things. When I saw that I let mine get the vaccines and like the vast majority of the population they're just fine. after all, conventional medicine also has its place! The either-or mentality which is rooted in fear, rejection and doubt and will readily seize on this and all sorts of other issues as an excuse to propagate and breed its fear, distrust and take you out of enjoying your life is probably much more damaging to the health than anything external...
