Guest guest
Hi Everyone, An online friend of mine introduced me to chanting mantras a few weeks ago. Two that I'm saying are a version of the " shrim " mantra (a prosperity mantra) and the " om gum ganapatiyei " mantra (releasing blockages). Sometimes when I chant these I may or may not be focusing on my intention. Does anyone know if that matters? Also, I sometimes get this fuzzy feeling on my forehead, like someone brushing a feather on my head. Anyone know what that means? Not sure if this is the correct newsgroup to be posting these questions in, but I thought I've seen some people talk about mantras before. Thanks everyone! -Jackie
Guest guest
Dear Jackie, According to Mantra -Yoga it is believed that manifestation of ultimate reality takes place through subtle vibrations. You are aware that matter can be converted into energy and vice versa. Our world is based on sum of innumerable complex vibrations which has originated from mantra Om.All mantras are derived fromOm. Reality in form of consciousness and sound vibration or word are dependent on each other.Mantras are to be repeated at first audibly then silently and in next stage mentally. It is called Vaikhari,Madhyama,Pashyanti and Para.Mantra is to be repeated several or innumerable times to get desired result. Some times mantra is repeated mechanically through habit, it should be imbibed in you totally. Once I had a fearful dream.I saw God of death. He was 12 feet tall, was lifting persons and throwing them.He lifted me also but I uttered the mantra given to me.He smiled and kissed me on the cheek and put me down.In another dream I saw some entities with red face popping from a bridge.I repeated names of Nava-nath and they disappeared. The point I wish to emphasize is that one should be able to repeat Mantra not in waking state but also dream state.Mantra is to be repeated minimum for 108 times,Gayatri mantra 10000 timesdaily. For further reading I suggest Kularnava Tantra,Tantra Raj,Shatkarma Deepika,Rudrayamal,Prapanch saar,Sankhyyan Tantra,Shaktisangam,Damar tantra,Spandkarika Gayatri Mantra vidnyan etc.................shrikant ________________________________ Jacqueline Favis <jacqueline.favis Kundalini Fri, 16 October, 2009 7:27:14 PM chanting mantras Hi Everyone, An online friend of mine introduced me to chanting mantras a few weeks ago. Guest guest
Please note: Gayati mantra should be repeated 3000 times daily as it is not possible for practical person to repeat it 10000 times in present atmosphere. When a person completes repeating 24000 times it is called one Punnashcharana.Gayatri mantra will fructify only after it is repeated for 24,00000 times..................shrikant ________________________________ Jacqueline Favis <jacqueline.favis Kundalini Fri, 16 October, 2009 7:27:14 PM chanting mantras Hi Everyone, An online friend of mine introduced me to chanting mantras a few weeks ago. Guest guest
Dear Shrikant, Thank you for sharing about Mantras... I had heard about the 108 repetitions but I am amazed to hear of Gayatri mantra being repeated 10000 times daily.... did you mean ten thousand or did you put in an extra 0 by mistake? Are ordinary folks able to do this? Guest guest
Ahh... it was not a mistake when you said ten thousand. I am very impressed that one could say a mantra 3000 times daily. Would you mind sharing how this is done... do people say it 108 times and repeat this cycle during the day?
