Hi Lucia and Linda

I am living in Ireland so we really do not get to grow watermellon here at

all... Watermellon and all mellons all imported. I have been eating the huge

green one with the pink/red flesh. I notice the seeds in this last one were not

dark like previous mellons, and the seeds were softish too.

I will buy another tomorrow and see if that too is yuckie..if so then perhaps

my watermellon eating time is over for now.

Linda waht is the name of the small watermellon from south africa?

Love Julia

Hi Julia, from your discription it sounds like you may have bought one that was

picked from the fine too soon. If It does not have a nice yellow spot on the

outside where is sat on the ground, then that one may have been picked too soon.

I don't think the watermelon from S. America had a name other than watermelon.

:) That was S. America, not Africa, but I am sure they grow nice ones there,

also. When you thump on it, if it sounds to high note it is too green, to low

sound means it is too ripe. You have to pick one that has a middle note sound

and it will be just right. Hehe!

Loveyou,

Linda

Dear Linda

I just had a wonderful image flash into my mind of a watermellon farm....

children in dungaress skipping in between the mellons... blue skies and straw

hats... a bit wizzard of oz ish actually..lol!

Today at the health food store I saw a bottle of organic melon juice and bought

it... there is a picture of a Gala mallon on the front. it is 100%pure and not

from concentrate so I am looking forward to tasting that later. I am just back

from the dentist and my mouth is still kumb from the start of the root canal

treatment, but the swelling on the roof is now very sore from all the prodding..

but it will pass soon enough.

Hehe! Julia, I did that a lot when I was a kid, didn't have a straw hat though.

:) My brothers and sisters and I would go to the neighbors watermelon farm and

pick us out a good one or two and put it in the icey spring water in the creek

behind out house. It would taste so delicious, nice and cold on those summer

days. It was a great little creek to go swimming in, too. The water was cold and

clear all the time.

I hope your mouth get to feeling better real soon. I do feel for you, my mouth

use to get sore a lot and this week I have had a sore mouth again. It's been a

long time since I have experienced that. My body has been wacky this week for

some reason. I went from being way too acid at the beginning of the week to

being way too alkaline these last couple of days. I think I over did it, trying

to get it back to normal. :) My mouth broke out and has been very painful,

especially the end of my tongue. It really hurts bad.

Love,

Linda
