Guest guest
Dear Danielle, I think a lot of things about this very important post of yours. First, being of true service is a mindset. It is in your every action. Almost as if everything were a prayer. You put yourself after those you serve. And it is with the deep sense that " whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers, you do unto me " sorry to sound so Christian, but it is very true. Every act is for the good of others. (And don't forget that sometimes that other is our dear bodies which also need us to care for them) Not what I want, rather what I can do to be of service to you. Second, you do not need to take off layers. Start doing any kind of service, from simply opening a door for someone. As time goes on, something will happen, come upon you and you'll see what is your service passion. It is like waiting till the " right " time to have children. There never will be a right time, and then you wake up and it's too late. Put your little canoe into the water. It will take you ...let it take you. Third, you are doing a great service now to the folks on this list. Fourth, service , being of service is not to make us feel good (though it almost always has that effect), it is because that is what is right. And because we have a responsibility to our fellow humans or our world. Being of service means putting yourself as a servant. Never ever rob someone of his dignity with pity. Compassion, yes, great compassion. Solidarity, oneness, but pity no. Fifth, zen out lady, and remember good things come when you least expect them. Sixth, read The Little Prince as soon as you can. Author is Antoine de St. Exupery. It is the very best book ever written. It is very short, only about 70 pages. It was written for children, but is for all of us. And then watch Pay It Forward, cause that is what should happen when we do favors/nice things for people. Service and doing nice things/favors may or may not be the same things. Seventh, I have said enough. You already know this stuff. Blessings to you, Danielle. Shaun Shaun Judge Duvall SJD Language & Culture Service, LLC. Guest guest
Hi Danielle, haha.. well, you could try not surrender... personally I have mastered every possible type of avoidance behaviour there is...lol... and as shakespeare put it 'like an engineer hoist by his own petar' love and white flags Bruce , " iamwaitingmoon " <iamwaitingmoon wrote: > > Are you saying that I should, surrender, Bruce? Dang, I thought I could perhaps skirt around it...but strangely all roads lead back to surrender. (Sounds like a good bumper sticker or t-shirt). > > Love to you. Guest guest
Thank you, Shaun. I love this, and esp the imagery and feeling of drifting and natural guiding of the current. This is something all of me can " comprehend " . " Put your little canoe into the water. It will take you ...let it take you. " (Have you written any children's books my fried? Your writing is so genuine, tender and nurturing.) Thank you. I spoke with yesterday and shared that my mind literally would reject the information being shared with me. It took me stepping away from the posts so that I could experience what was being shared by all vs trying to process it through my gray-matter and ego filter. It was the oddest of sensations, and a very tactile...a " pushing away " from my brain; whereas later, in my heart it nestled in all cozy-like. Thank you so dearly for this post. -Danielle , " Shaun J.
