Guest guest
I will suggest that you continue to do what you are apparently doing Diane and that is to get out there on the freeway and to " go with the flow " of traffic. Go on the lanes you are OK with. Parental programs can be difficult to over come but they CAN be overcome. Make your lane changes using your signals and do your best to be aware of your sight lines on either side of the vehicle. Do these as very quick glances over the shoulder and in tandem with your mirrors, not staring, but quick and only as much as is needed for safety. Keep your distances from the vehicles ahead of you. This will be unlike most of the other drivers around you in L.A. but some do keep their distances. Be one of those people. Drive on the freeways as much as you possibly can. Go out of your way to show your inner child that father was mistaken on this one. And he was. I have driven professionally and the statistics are that as we drive on freeways " without " cross traffic we are indeed safer. No one is running red lights and there are no pedestrians (for the most part) As you do this you will see that there is nothing to fear. Fear itself can become the source of that which you are concerned about by causing a person to respond through anxiety. I will suggest that you use this as a primer towards the balancing of other fears you may harbor. - blessings and see you on the I-10! - chrism , Diane Baugh <cdgbdronningen wrote: > I have a freeway phobia.
