Guest guest
Hi Danielle, This is a very interesting post. I don't have any philosophical answers, but suffering is real, and it is part of the fabric of life. Life is made to include suffering and joy. If you don't suffer, you'll never be able to know joy. (have you read the Little Prince yet? You'll find answers there. " I will be consoled because of the color of wheat. Your voice will be for me, like little bells " .- keep reading) I am not afraid of suffering. I have suffered through the loss of a child. I don't know if there is anything harder. I am a little afraid of physical torture. But not suffering- being deprived, or away from loved ones, etc. All that is tolerable to me. Sometimes I think that we express hurt because others notice and have compassion for us. Hurting is something that will pass. Physical or emotional, it does pass. As my very difficult but many ways wise mother told me- each labor pain is one fewer, and one closer to holding that dear baby in my arms. You have to go through it to get the good stuff. Read the little prince... dear Danielle, We all are afraid of something- I am very afraid of heights. I am also afraid of the last moment of life- when I will close my eyes for the last time, and will never see the world again as I know it. I am not afraid of being dead. I know that my dear daughter is there making my place for me. But I do worry about the last minute. I hope and pray that I'll be able to surrender to that moment when it comes. I am counting on doing this work now, so I'll be ready. Love, Shaun Shaun Judge Duvall SJD Language & Culture Service, LLC.
