Guest guest
Hello! This is my second day on fast. Begun a day early I know, basic organization has been challenging lately... Anyway, around 10 a.m. I begun feeling very weak (could barely walk) and everything around me begun sort of vibrating. I felt pulses of heat around the solar plexus area and all of my face was vibrating too. Nothing could be seen to the outside, but the sensation was strong. I had a feeling the weakness would go away if I ate some cucumber. I peeled it so there would be as little solid matter as possible. It tasted really good and now I'm feeling better, but the vibration subsided almost completely too. How much against the idea of the fast is it to eat small quantities of solid peeled cucumber? Do I just normally continue the fast even though I begun day early? And if I get the weakness again, should I eat little cucumber again or just béar with it? Last time I didn't realize I should take some salt and that made me feel weak, but this time it's not the salt. Love, Aarni
Guest guest
Hello Aarni! I dug up some old fasting info for you from Chrism's posts, some of my thoughts as well. If you do get weak, yes eat a bit of something and if you are very weak, simply call off your fast and try another time. Another way to do it is to eat root vegetables. Try those for two days, and then one day water perhaps. You can prepare this for your next Shaktipat, or another time. I've done two or three days of only carrot juice as well before shaktipat, and that has been a wonderful start to this special time. be well, bradly ********************************************* Shaktipat Fasting Hey I've regurgitated my old post about fasting for the Shaktipat. Some of Chrism's thoughts are below. It can help you focus, set your intention clearly and be helpful for your shaktipat... Chrism has told us before a one day fast on the first day of Shaktipat, or a three day fast, finishing with the first day of Shaktipat is best. If you do the three day fast, munch on only root vegetables or the juices of them the first two days. Look at the safeties for some ideas. Third day only water, this is the first day of the shakitpat... By doing a small short fast for shaktipat 4X a year, it can be a sort of mini-cleanse as well. If you give it a whirl, be careful not to overdo it if you've never fasted before. Good luck! Be well, bradly I would suggest that the three day faste start two days before the first Shaktipat day so that the third faste day is on the first day of the Shaktipat. - blessings – chrism ***************** First rule of fasting is to be medically able to do one. No low blood sugar events, no hypoglycemic reactions. If this is your first faste then supplement your fluid intake with lemonade that is made from fresh real lemons and molasses if you can get it or another natural unprocessed sugar. Honey may be used. If you have trouble with the lemonade then hot vegetable broth can replace that. Please be as prayerful and as spiritually motivated as you possibly can be as much of the time as you can be. Recite prayers every hour or chant or listen to spiritual music. Recite the Shakti prayer as much as you can. Meditate and allow the sharpening of the faste to extend into your mind. For first time fastes a level of detoxification will become the most significant response. Some clarity of mind that hasnt been available can be noticed. If you become overwhelmed with the desire for food or become dizzy or develop a really bad temper - break the faste. Eat someting and be OK as it is a first time thing and perhaps can be entered into as a 24 hour faste at first. Sometimes a faste is not indicated for the above reasons and reasons of general health so be sure and be healthy before embarking on one. For the Shaktipat the faste is a time of purification and the releasing of the previous expressions of desires and sharpening of intention and surrender. Being spiritually focused as much of the time as possible and from there being focused on receiving the Shaktipat is the most important aspect of the mind and body and emotions during the faste. Begin to increase these qualities now so that when you reach the time of the faste one isnt scrambling to find a pattern of spiritual response that is comfortable. Now is the time to develop this. Stay well hydrated but do not supplement water for food. Be gentle and keep track of your body and its sensations and if a problem develops break the faste as that problem can become a distraction. Sharpening focus is the goal. Focus on God and Goddess. Focus on Kundalini. Focus on the tenets of the safeties and the reception of the gift. Allowing for surrender to become a constant companion. Once again be careful and be attentive to what is occurring. - blessings all. – chrism @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@ For optimum results Let the twenty first day be the one day or the third day of a fasting spiritual personal retreat for you. If you can safely do this. If you are sensitive to sugar levels (hypoglycemic) then don't do this. Only if you can safely do it. The Shakti will come regardless. - Just some thoughts - blessings to you all - chrism Make sure that if you faste that you can do so without medical danger to yourself, and if you do the three day faste that you commit yourself to much prayer and meditation and a strict focus upon the practice as this can put it into a stronger form. blessings all - chrism
Guest guest
Thank you so much Bradley. This was useful even outside the uncomfortable situation.
Guest guest
Remember Chrism's advice, if it's hurting or too uncomfortable break your fast! The fast is to help your focus and intent for shaktipat, not take it away or make you ill or sick... If you need to end your fast you are not 'weak' and you haven't failed, it's simply not the right time to fast! There will be many more opportunities. be well, bradly , " spiralingsnake " <aarni.kimmo wrote: > > Thank you so much Bradley.
