Guest guest
Well Shakti has made it very apparent to me that I need to be vegan at this time. Basically vegetarianism wasn't going to cut it hah. When I even think about eating dairy or an egg, even honey, my stomach turns. I guess this was a gradual process. In the beginning I wasn't allowed to eat beef (My body just wouldn't let me) Then I was allowed to for a short time, but then I became a para vegan (eating chicken occasionally and dairy) Now my typical breakfast of cottage cheese wont even get past my lips. I can eat the fruit and bread just fine, but no way will my body even let me get close to that milky substance. Now I am here. My body feels amazing so I know it's right. I feel light as if I could jump 50 feet in the air =) I feel clean for once. (Not that I am saying anything about meat eaters, it's just what my K wants right now) What I am wondering is, are there any special vitamins I need to take during this phase? I don't know if it will be forever but I don't know a whole lot about the nutrition that I will need as far as the Kundalini is concerned. I did a lot of research on veganism and nutrition, so I am really asking advice from a K perspective. I am going to the whole foods market later today and grabbing a bunch of vitamins to supplement me at this time. I know veganism is a very hard way of life and people can easily be malnourished. If any of you K active individuals whom are vegan can help me, and Chrism, I would appreciate it =) Thank you, Tiffany S
Guest guest
Hello dear Tiffany, B- 12's or b complex 100 (vegan process) Selenium - 100 or 200 mcg's Zinc - 100 mgs Vitamin E 400 to eight hundred i.u.'s(natural tocepherol) Iron - ask the person at whole foods or maybe Zack or Steve Fields will know the quantity for this. They may have other things to add. In my opinion almost always with food and three times a week. Of course the vitamin C complex and the other nutrients I give for the Kundalini person should be added to this list. , " angelikdementia " <angelikdementia wrote: > Now I am here. Guest guest
Dear Tiffany, I intended to reply sooner so sorry about the delay. I have become vegan also and I also had no choice in the matter..lol!! A few years ago the desire to eat meat left me and I became a vegitarian.... at that time Tiffany no one was more suprised than I. Since then I had never considered becoming a vegan but a couple of months ago I was directed that this was to become the way to eat for me. Prior to that I had been constantly reading or coming accross information about how animals are treated in the production of food for humans ( this was K directed also) and then suddenly the desire to eat dairy, or eggs and other foods just left me and like you have also found, it was impossible to continue eating them. The suprise for me is that it has been very easy, not difficult at all. I have no desire to eat these foods and there is no feeling of depravation or loss about it. In fact quite the opposite. I have also become very aware of the life within the vegatable foods and that this is given in order for me to eat. Like yourself I do not know how long this will last. I cannot imagne myself ever eating flesh again, but I have decided (like I have a choice.lol!) should K direct me to I will surrender to her direction if it happens,as I do now to veganism. I have not taken any supplements up to now, but that is just the way I approach things and I think we are all diferent in that respect. I seem to be directed to eat particular foods at times. for example I am eating a huge amount of Brazil nuts!! I am eating large quantities of sprouted seeds ( yummie on a pate type spread on top of vegan crackers and bread.) I went through a phase of huge quantities of veggie soup. I am drinking melon juice and water. I have found great products in the local vegatarian shop that are vegan and for example I am enjoying spicy bean burgers served on a bed of mixed salad leaves and a soya substitute for sour cream. I am not finding the diet to be too strict at all. When I am away from home it is not as easy but as long as I have control over the cooking I am eating yummie stuff. I bought wheat grass the other day and this is a complete food, it contains all the vitamins and 97 of the 102 minerals. This can be juiced with fruit and veggies. So Tiffany. while I thought it would be difficult it turns out that I am not really finding it a hard way of life at all. Look at the yummie vegan hot foods that are available ( there is a brand called " good life " here that is excellent) and also you will begin to create your own yummie vegan dishes. We can keep each other posted if you like, you are the only other vegan that I know so that would be cool with me. (I always think of Dr spock when I use the word Vegan...lol) Happy eating.
