Guest guest
I have been focusing more on visualisation during meditation, but I'm finding a recurring obstacle. If I try to visualise something in front of me, no problem. I could, I think, visualise the building of an entire city if I put my mind to it. I've always had a pretty good visual imagination, or so I thought. However, I cant visualise anything behind me, or around me, or inside me. Might sound strange, but I cant do it. I never really gave it any thought until I started meditating. Take your average meditation along the lines of " imagine a strong white light surrounding your body! " . Well, I cant. I can imagine a strong white light in front of me, or around something else, I just cant see it around me. I think it simply comes down to my brain behaving practically. It knows I cant see behind myself etc. so it wont do it. If I try to think of a glowing light around me, or energy travelling up inside me, my mind switches instantly to a 'third person' view, as though I was seeing myself from outside. The same thing happens when I was considering Gopi Krishna's meditation of imagining a lotus opening infinitely from the top of your head... I cant see the top of my head, so I couldn't do it without visualising my head in front of me first. Does anyone else have a similar or the same issue? More to the point, is it actually an issue, or is it perfectly acceptable to visualise a copy of my own body in front of me? I've searched on the internet etc. and found very little in the way of help. So any help form you wonderful people will be gratefully and thankfully received. A merry Christmas, a happy Shaktipat and sincere blessing and love to one and all! Andy x
Guest guest
Just try for being still during the meditation and do not worry about the developments and what occurs or doesnt occur in you as you begin to go through your changes. Some things will come and some things will go only to be returned. You are in process and there will be shifts Andrew. Nothing wrong everything is going well! - blessings and expansion my friend! - chrism
Guest guest
I see, so rather than pushing my thoughts onto myself, I should just observe myself quietly and let what happens, happen? Andy
