Guest guest
When ever i pick up the bible and read, or when i go to church or speak with someone about god, i get a cool/warm feeling in my chest like menthol. It gives me great comfort and i am really inspired about what was written about the " house of the lord " and submission in the bible. I had no interest in christianity or god before and the reason for my spiritual endevours were to experiment with these weird things that i could do. Now it feels to me that all that matters is knowing god, his will and his love. how blessed am i to know some of the truth. I was in the local christian bookshop buying a new bible and there was a woman there who was really helpful. she was meeting with a friend for a coffee but after talking with her for a while it was apparant that she was deeply spiritual/christian. She spoke of such depths of her personal relationship with god and her hardships and how she has been cured of cancer and mental health issues that had come on. Talking to her really made me feel at home as she was speaking of things that where to do with the holy spirit but to me they were like kundalini. A while ago i was in a chariety hall that sold everything furniture to books second hand. As i browsed quickly through them i was drawn to one plane old book (book finding syncronicity 101...) " Journey for a Soul " by Arch Bishop George Appleton. A collection of prayers meditations scriptures and quotes, for 20p this book has given me more comfort and insight than any of the other books i have found, it has been spiritual nourishment. I would like to share some of it if i may. " I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to god " - Romans 12:1 " He will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power which enables him even to subject all things to himself " -Phillipians 3:21 " The New Testament promises us that our physical body shall be transmuted into a spiritualized body, like the body of the risen Christ " - Arch Bishop George Appleton " We know that our old self was crucified with him so that the sinful body might be destroyed, and we might no longer be enslaved to sin " - Romans 6:6 " I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me; and the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, Who loved me and gave himself for me. " - Galatians 2:20 Are they talking about the death of the seperate self ? " O God, I know that thy nature is so pure that it destroys all that is not pure as fire. I know that the fire does not burn once in condemnation but that it will continue to burn me untill i am pure, until all that is foreign to is has yeilded to its force, no longer with pain and consuming, but with the pure light of holiness. O God, I will hold myself in thy purifying fire. " - Uknown prayer. Such inspiration, and it also sounds very familiar... Another book: Conversations with god by Neale Donald Walsh " What the soul is after is - the highest feeling of love you can imagine. This is the souls desire. This is its purpose. The soul is after the feeling. Not the knowledge, but the feeling. It allready has the knowledge, but knowledge is conceptual, Feeling is experiential. The soul wants to feel itself and thus to know itself in its own experience. The highest feeling is the experience of unity with the All that is. This is the great return to truth for which the soul yearns. This is the feeling of perfect love " " Every heart which earnestly asks, Which is the path to god, is shown. Each is given a heartfelt truth. Come to me along the path of your heart not through a journey of your mind. You will never find me in your mind. In order to truely know god you have to be out of your mind. " and madame jeanne guyon a short method of prayer and other writings: Thus doth the soul ascend unto God, by giving up self to the destroying and annihilating power of Divine Love: this, indeed, is a most essential and necessary sacrifice in the Christian religion, and that alone by which we pay true homage to the sovereignty of God; as it is written, " The power of the Lord is great, and he is honoured only by the humble " (Eccles. iii. 20). By the destruction of the existence of self within us, we truly acknowledge the supreme existence of our God; for unless we cease to exist in self, the Spirit of the Eternal Word cannot exist in us: now it is by the giving up of our own life, that we give place for His coming; and " in dying to ourselves, He liveth and abideth in us. " We should, indeed, surrender our whole being unto Christ Jesus: and cease to live any longer in ourselves, that He may become our life; " that being dead, our life may be hid with Christ in God " (Col. iii. 3). " Pass ye into me, " saith God, " all ye who earnestly seek after me " (Eccles. xxiv. 16). But how is it we pass into God? We leave and forsake ourselves, that we may be lost in Him; and this can be effected only by annihilation; which being the true prayer of adoration, renders unto God alone, all " Blessing, honour, glory and power, for ever and ever " (Rev. v. 13). 41 This is the prayer of truth; " It is worshipping God in spirit and in truth " (John iv. 23). " In spirit, " because we enter into the purity of that Spirit which prayeth within us, and are drawn forth and freed from our own carnal and corrupt manner of praying; " In truth " because we are thereby placed in the great Truth of the All of God, and the Nothing of the creature. blessings and love to you all mark

Guest guest
Hi Mark, thanks, these are lovely. I am a committed Christian, and am enjoying the walk with Christ, finding it liberating, empowering and loving. Do you go to a church? I would strongly suggest to practice a faith (even if you dont always agree with the followers and they dont always seem to get the esoteric side of Christianity), as its very helpful to be in community, for in community you will come under the protection and guidance of The Father. love Bruce , " sinebyte " <sinebyte wrote: > > > When ever i pick up the bible and read, or when i go to church or speak with someone about god, i get a cool/warm feeling in my chest like menthol. Guest guest
Hi Bruce. I have been going to a charismatic prayer group that meet once a week at the back of the church and it has been food for my soul. I am left with a feeling that I wish it was every day when I go. The prayers, the talking about god and jesus the hymns they really raise my vibration and leave me feeling really positive. Obviously they are really nice people and they are especially welcoming because I am young! Christianity is dwindling over here now. Also i dont consider myself a christian ?!? I guess I dont like to commit to a label... im not sure. lol. What i do know is that im taking this route because i feel guided inside its what feels right and so im going with that. Im glad people enjoyed the quotes thanks for the comments. love to everyone mark , " BruceO " <bruce_oom wrote: > > Hi Mark, > > thanks, these are lovely. Guest guest
Hi Mark, thats great, and I have a similiar experience of feeling good and having a raised vibration. I go to a charismatic church, said by some to be among the most free they have been to in the world.. and I know they planted a branch in London so I can find out about that for you if you like... I love the praise and worship hour as its meditative and totally opens me up, and I can sing really loud and no one else can hear my bad voice because the sound system is so loud..(do you remember that Mr Bean episode when he was in church singing out of tune? my voice is a little like that!!! lol ) I would strongly reccomend that as a Kundalini practice for anyone with blocked energy.. an hour or two, twice a week, of joyful singing and dancing and praising God from the heart.. wonderfully opening love and out of tune hallelujias Bruce , " sinebyte " <sinebyte wrote: > > > Hi Bruce.
