She's in Spain where the celebration of day of 3 Kings (Jan 6th) has yet to take place. For centuries it was known that the 12 days of Christmas actually begins on Dec 25th and ends Jan 6th. The celebration is a very big holiday in Spain where it is said that more celebrating takes place than Christmas day.If you read through some of the links that come up with a google search you'll find out that it's also celebrated in Bavaria, Austria, Latin America and at least one German settlement in the US..(Indiana). TraditionallyChildren are told to make their wish list and to tape it onto a small box (Jan 5th) filled with straw or grass for the camels that are travelling to see the Christ child. At night parents toss the straw and leave small gifts for their child in its place. Families have friends over for dinner and serve tradtional foods and have a round circular sweet cake.
