Guest guest
Hi Michelle, Thank you for bringing up this topic. Daydreaming is a little bit of everything, but it usually tends to be mostly a combination of ego, and imagination. For a while I used to do a LOT of daydreaming. It was a combination of daydreaming, getting really caught up in old less desirable memories, playing out scenarios of the future or sometimes a hybrid of all of those. Diane explained it perfectly IMO, the ego does mix in with daydreams, very much so and can use it for fuel to sustain itself. If you are a writer or an artist of any kind, daydreaming can be an invaluable source for inspiration, but when it comes to dealing with important situations in waking reality its better to not overindulge in them. From my experience when one spends too much time looking to daydreaming as an outlet to figure out what to do next about an potentially impending situation, sometimes your perception of the big picture can get distorted. I think its extremely important to try to stay in the here and now as much as possible. That is something I am consciously working on right now as well. Answers to dilemmas tend to naturally play out more gracefully and naturally the less you think about them. I can completely relate to your scenerio though, I've done my share of daydreaming about coming out with all of this to my family. In fact i did a little bit last night, but it doesn't go any further than that. When its time to talk about things like this you'll know. If the scenerio that you described were to happen it will play out the way its supposed to when it happens. Best of luck to you.
