Tootsie Pop close call

I woke smiling in the middle of the night, with the thought, " I know what's at

the center of the Tootsie Pop - divine unconditional love, which is at the

center of everything! " I lay there smiling in the dark. Now that I " m awake and

going about my day, I have to smile again, thinking, oh, now I know what makes

those Tootsie Rolls taste so good!

 

I think the smile helped my heart, and helped me get through some tense moments

at work this morning, when a belligerent young man in baggy clothes with his

hands in his pockets refused to leave, threatening to ruin our day and splatter

the security guard if he didn't get what he wanted. I managed to get him and my

coworkers separated and calmed down, got him to talk a little bit about what he

needed, and gave him the name and address of a place that might be able to help

him. He left before anyone else came in, and the police are looking for him

outside, so hopefully that's it for the day.

 

It was interesting to hold a Tootsie Pop in my heart and think about splatter,

do my best and let go of the outcome. I'm still a little nervous about the rest

of the day, but I just have to trust in the unfolding of things, and hold to the

gentle approach.

two, three-as he crunches through the hard candy shell and into the rich

chocolately chew.
